resort tours
Hello,
Busy packing for my trip in 2 days and I wanted to know if you cn tour other Disney resorts. How does it work - do you have to call ahead and have a CM escort you around the property or can you tour solo?? Thanks POP Century here we come:D |

You are welcome to tour any of the WDW resorts. If you drive to the resort, just tell the security CM at the resort gate that you would like to have a look around their resort. Sometimes they will give you a timed parking pass, other times they'll just wave you in.
If you don't have a car, just take the Disney resort transportation to that resort from either a park or Downtown Disney. |

and if you want to see a room, ask at the desk. We tell them we are planning a future trip. We have been able to see several rooms to compare. But we have also been turned down at several resorts.
Resort hopping is one of our favorite things to do. We visit the GF and listen to the live music. We visit the Poly and have drinks by the window (if timed right you can see the fireworks at WDW). We have never been approached by a CM nor have we been asked to leave.

disney is starting to get very tight on the parking policy at soem resorts so if you choose to do this telling them you are going to get something to eat (reaservations not required for fast food) they will let you through at that point as that is a approved reason. It depends on the guard with the above choice. |

DW and I have enjoyed resort hopping for years and have never had a problem. We always make a point of doing it around Christmas to see all the different decorations.
jmouse is right -- sometimes the security guard will wave you through without questions and sometimes they'll fill out a parking pass. Generally, though, they'll ask to see a photo ID like a driver's license.
