1 WDW resort room...2 beds...3 days...4 5 of us!?!?

I'd like to be on-site for part of our stay in Florida at a WDW restort (leaning towards a moderate or deluxe resort like the Poly/Contemporary.) The idea of close proximity to WDW and its attractions along with easy transportation is very attractive (along with the Disney atmosphere etc.) We'd love to be able to bring the kids back for mid-day naps during the day. Our children are 5, 3 and 1. I'm a bit concerned about a single room w/ 2 beds and getting the kids down (+ the baby) for naps and bedtime at night. I know they'll mostly be wiped out from the days activities...but with all five of us is it to much to expect a decent sleep and the kids (and parents!) in a rested mood? We plan on staying off-site a few days at a suite hotel that is more affordable with separate bedroom. This obviously works for getting the kids settled down easier and some alone time for us parents. Any advice/experiences appreciated! TIA!

We had no problem with 5 in a room at the AKL a few years back, with our youngest being 16 months old at the time.
I understand the rooms at the Poly or Contempary would be even larger.
Have Fun!!

Hey Derek! I would have to say the Poly mirrors all of your needs! There are two queen size beds and one full size day bed. The rooms are a little more than 400 square feet...MORE than enough room for your family, IMO! And you just can't beat the convenience of the monorail. In December, we stayed in Tahiti...right next to TTC, (where you can get the EXPRESS monorail to MK and also the monorail to Epcot), and a very short walk to the Great Ceremonial House where you can get the resort monorail to MK. The grounds are gorgeous, the Cast Members are SOOO friendly and my room was spotless...:D

Hi there! I literally just got back from our WDW trip with a 5,3 & 1 year old! No way would we have been comfortable in one room so we opted for a Villa at the Wilderness Lodge. It had one bedroom w/ a king bed & a pull out couch in the family room (5 year old slept there) then we packed our blow up air mattress & that went in the family room too (3 year old) Then - and don't you all laugh or think I'm a horrible mother - we put my one year old in the porta-crib in the huge walk in closet! LOL It was huge - nice and dark & cozy and that way we didn't have to worry about "shhhhhhing" every 5 minutes when he was napping or whatever. It worked out GREAT for us - and next time we plan on requesting the same set up.

We stayed at the Beach Club a few years ago and they had 2 queen beds and a daybed in the room. That sounds like it would work for you too. It was also very convenient to Epcot (you can walk). We liked it there. Any of the rooms at the deluxe resorts will be much more comfortable for you because they are larger and have more room for a portable crib if you need it.

I love staying on Disney property, but when our kids were little, we stayed off site. The Holiday Inn in Kissimmee had kid suites with a seperate "fort" for the kids. The fort area had bunkbeds and a single bed; that area had its own TV and videogames. The back area had a fridge and dressing area beside the BR. It probably is much cheaper than a Disney property. They had a bus to take you to and from the parks. This HI was out near Old town. We ate at Red Lobster and took the kids to the Old town rides, too.
