POR or Pop century
I'm going to be searching for AKL discounts which is our first choice. At this time were planning on staying at Pop Century. Has anyone out there stayed at POR and Pop century. If so which resort did you like best and why. Our trip is in Nov.

I have stayed at all the resorts you mentioned. Of course, if you can find a good discount for the AKL, definitely go with the AKL.
If it comes down to choosing between POR and PC, I would go with PC unless you want a pool slide and/or a sit-down restaurant within the resort. My reasons: 1. PC will cost less. 2. PC is newer. 3. PC has one bus stop; POR has several bus stops around the resort. 4. PC not as spread out. No matter what building you are in, it si an easy walk to the buses and food court. |

POR has a hot tub and PC doesn't. Just thought I would mention this since it makes a difference for some people. (like my DH). Also, aren't the rooms a little bigger at a moderate resort than a value?

We have not been to PC but we do like POR very much. POR always seems to us to be peaceful. That is one of the reasons that we stopped going to the All Stars. They just seem so darn loud, almost like there are more kids than adults there.
Just a thought...;)

You might want to consider that PC is new so is fairly crowded right now. We just got back from a week in Jan and while most of the other resorts were relatively empty, PC was crowded. For comfort AKL is tops. POR is very nice, we liked it. It is spread out but scout out the room layout and choose one on the early part of the bus route or walk to the main building and catch it there. You may ride longer but at least you'll have a seat. ;)

I stayed at PC earlier this month and it was booked in full. We never felt the resort was too crowded. Never had long lines in the food court. The lines at the bus stops were handled very efficiently.
I have also stayed at other WDW resorts when they were at full occupancy. Other than one time at one of the All-Stars when all the cheerleaders descended upon the food court at the close of their day's competition, I never felt that the resorts were overcrowded. |
