Faxing in room requests

Just wondering if everyone is still faxing room requests into the resorts a few days before check in or just going with the request just being on your boking confirmation.

Thanks!!

I havent done so. there is a thread some place on the DC board Buzz where several people said that they no longer pay much if any attention to the faxes.
I am counting on Mouseketrips to take care of my request :) I know they will so I dont really worry about it.

Thanks. I thought I read that somewhere in here......that it wasn't worth bothering to fax requests anymore.

I am pretty sure you already have thought of this ..but I would still call a day or so before and remind them of your request. After last august I cant say this works either :( but it can not hurt.

I have never faxed in requests to the resorts in my over 50+ stays at a WDW resort. I make sure any requests are noted on my reservation when I make my deposit. When I check-in, I confirm whether my requests have been able to be met. Works out fine.

I was planning on using mouseketrips, but when time came to put down my deposit, I emailed them to confirm our room requests (king sized bed, 3rd floor room, etc). The guy actually said, "oh yeah, I forgot about that..." so, what was the point of that?? I think I might have been better off just doing the booking myself, and since I'm not going until Sep. I have some time to make the deposit, and if I do it myself, I can be sure that the room request is noted.

Well Buzz, I followed the instructions on allearsnet as to when to fax and how to word it. I also added a little poem.
I got EXACTLY what I asked for!

neighboring rooms, 70's building B, and 1st/ground floor!!!

:) A little extra note can't hurt, it worked for us!

Sending a fax worked for us too. This was the only time I requested. I made no request when I booked the room.

I never knew about faxing a request before joining this board but have never had a problem getting my request by simply having it noted on the reservation. But at the same time I don't see why it would hurt to fax in a request either (unless the room booker doesn't even look at the faxes).

I requested one of the 70's building and got it. I just called and put the request on my reservation and then reconfirmed it when i reconfirmed my reservation, a couple of days before my trip. It worked well. I got the 70's!

I'm sorry you had a bad experience with them. Mine has been excellent thus far.
