Trust me. Any second that I can spend watching my 3 and 5 year old having wide open eyes and non stop excitement on their faces is always worth ANY trouble we had at CS. Sure it could have been better for the mrs. and I. I am certainly not trying to tell people what to do and only sharing our experiences. That is what these forums are designed for right? Take care.

Gladly, let's drop this thread. I really hate it when there are hard feelings on this site. I want to stop them as quickly as possible. Please, people, that's why I beg for respect for each other.

P.S. llbarnes, welcome to Disney Central I'm sure if you give us a chance you will find that you really like it here. We are all just huge disney fans and would defend the house of mouse with our lives if we had to.:laugh :) :laugh
Trust me. There is no bigger fan than I of Disney. I think they failed a long time customer by not responding to our letters, but that sure isn't going to stop me from going to Disney.

Thanks for those of you who let me vent. Moving on...

You take care as well. I am sorry if I said anything offensive. I just don't like to see people getting riled up in these threads. It's not worth it!

We are all Disney lovers, which makes us a family. I don't want it to be a dysfunctional one! :laugh

llbarnes,
I think you're sharing your thoughts and feelings as honestly as possible - possibly too candidly for this forum. Usually, reports here are bright and cheery, so I think that's why you might be getting a few folks upset.
Your letter was thorough. I agree with an earlier poster that you should sharpen it and trim it down, perhaps, to get attention from the people at WDW, but it seems they have already responded. I read your letter with much interest, because I know of the kind of service you're talking about. Not everything or everybody at Disney is "magical", and sometimes you do hit the rough spots. As I read, I'm sitting here hoping this sort of stuff doesn't happen in the future to myself or others, and I am comparing to similiar events I've experienced both on and off-site.

Frankly, folks, we really have to try to see things from other's eyes every now and then. Imagine yourselves in that situation, and how you'd respond. From the letter, it seems they took it pretty well. Frankly, there is nothing good that isn't also bad, and we have to - or SHOULD be able to hear BOTH sides. (Perhaps start a Thread about Things That went wrong?). Many things can go wrong in a trip. Sometimes because the travelers didn't plan right, sometimes because the agents got it wrong, and sometimes because it just does. It's important to hear all sides of a story. Think of how much you can learn. I learned an awful lot reading this particular letter, by the way. I know that it's imperative to make sure you check in early to avoid this nightmare, among other things. To imagine that just because someone says they had a bad experience at Disney instantly makes them a Disney hater is just silly. We all have had good and bad times there.

I have encountered ridiculously inept service at WDW resorts - including recently at CBR ! And even the Disney Magic cruise ship had its share of completely inane moments that could have ruined my trip if I let them. I refrain from posting that info here because of the sort of backlash that might cause from someone who doesn't realize it's being posted because it happened, not to cause an argument. Sadly, These things do happen.

llbarnes, thanks again for sharing the story - I think it's important enough to hear about the good and bad. Let's hope your next one is good. My only suggestion is that you may want to re-read and edit certain details of your letter or post. Make your point by concentrating on the details Disney can control. It's unfortunate that you suffered personal situations during the trip - Disney can't help you with that. Focus more on the -"We paid in advance and we didn't receive the service we expect, having stayed there before" angle. The problem with giving too much information to a corporation is that it may come off as being highly negative rather than informative or earnest. You're not asking them for anything. You're simply letting them know you had a rotten time due to certain things they did wrong. And let's face it, sending your luggage to another room, among other things, is wrong.
That said, I have stayed at CSR, and don't remember the walls being "paper thin", though I don't think we had neighbors on either side. I have had experience like those you mentioned in other non-Disney hotels. Seems like normal hotel problems to me. I always wondered if anyone ever heard the tv or room noise in those tightly integrated rooms. I enjoyed my stay there very much, though I have begun to feel I'm not really a big fan of the moderates any longer. IMHO, once you stay at something like AKL, nothing comes close.
(Though there were recently some negative posts about that one on some travel site. Sigh. You can't please everyone, can you?)

PS: Due to my lengthy reply I missed the comment about ending the thread. Sorry! As you said, let's move on..

Not a problem. I just know that I would want to hear about the good and the bad in order to make a better decision for my WDW vacation.

I would like to see maybe a section devoted to the things to watch out for. I mean pointing out negatvie things may get the attention of somebody at WDW and make things right as the board gets even bigger and more known about. We all want the perfect Disney and there is no reason to not expect it. I'll definetly be checking back in from time to time and you know darn well i'll let ya'll know if I ever do get a reply from Disney. After today, DisneyCentral.com is burned into my brain as a central location to talk about Disney.
