AKL or Wilderness Lodge???
We've never been to either, but have ressies for WL in May, but may be able to get AKL Savannah view at roughly same rate.
What would ya'll think. Forgot to add, our children are 5, 3 and 1 yr old.

We stayed at AKL three times last year, it was so good. I can't say enough about AKL. I've got a seven (then six) and a 13 year old. They loved the bunk beds, and DD's favorite place to play in the world was out on the balcony with her own animals (we bought a zoo in a tube set and it's her favorite toy now)
I love WL too, but the atmosphere at AKL, especially for kids and their activities, cannot be beat. BTW, they did a huge animal unit at her school this winter - studied the animals of Africa. She aced everything and had a ton of stuff to add to the class. This, after getting berated by the teacher last fall for taking her out for a week. :p

I completely agree with MickeyMac, AKL is the best choice with the ages of your children. We have stayed there several times and will be again in May. Have a Magical vacation!!!!!!!!! :D :) Joe

I think it (AKL) sounds perfect for my 5 yr old (she'll turn 6 while were at WDW), but are there things to do for my 3 yr old (turns 4 in June)? For example, I read somewhere that the children's activity center (Cub Club or something like that) was for ages 4-12.

The Cub House is a babysitting service, not something for kids to play at during the day.
For wee ones, the kids programs can't be beat. There are 'poolside' activities (by the short kiddie pool), music from the savannah (usually percussion instruments in the Sunset Lounge, followed by making a 'parade' through the lobby), all kinds of Savannah Guides with goodies in their pockets (usually gross things like petrified poop or skulls of African animals, but my kids love that kind of stuff) Animal Tracking, using telemytry (looks like a large crossbow, but tracks animals wearing radio collars) African dollmaking (sign up immediately - it goes quick!!) There are soooooo many activities, and the pool is great too - my DD wasn't much of a swimmer, but loved the little water slide and wore a vest (which AKL provided) and DH'd catch her at the bottom, over and over and over and over and over...

I don't think you can go wrong with either choice. I would love to stay at AKL. However, we have stayed at WL and absolutely loved it. One point to consider about WL--it is very convenient to MK. You take a boat ride over and the kids love it.
BTW, my kids are 6, 4, and 2. I don't know if your Jordan is a boy or girl but my oldest DD's name is Jordan. ![]()

You have a very hard decision to make there. Having stayed at both, I can tell you they are both great and have magic of their own. I'm going to go with AKL thoguh, soley becasue of the animals. They are just amazing. Your kids wil be thrilled.

If you were going without kids, I would say Wilderness Lodge for sure. But because your children will like animals (what little kid doesn't?? :laugh) I would say AKL. But, the added bonus for Wilderness Lodge is how it's SUPER close to MK... just one boat ride away. But we can't make that decision for you! I would pick WL though just because children LOVE MK.
Hope this helps!

Wilderness Lodge
We stayed at the WL-Villas and it was awesome. My daughter loved taking the boat over to MK and at the end of a busy day it was a nice way to relax before heading out for supper. We will definetly be going back in the future, but my DW wants to try AKL, so if you go that route be sure and let us know how you liked it.

We visited the AKL on the first night of our trip last Friday night and I thought it was nice, but it was very busy, noisy, and I just love the atmosphere at WL much better!!
Whichever choice you make, they are both beautiful! That is just my take on it!! By the way, my 8 year old and 4 year old said they both like WL better after we left our visit to AKL last week.
