Where to stay for 6 people
Does anyone have any suggestions on a good place to stay for a group of 6? We are traveling with my wife’s parents so we will have 4 adults & 2 children. One of us has trouble walking long distances so our only real priority is easy access to Disney Transportation. This will be our 4th visit, but our first time with 6 people.
Thanks!!! Chip :dazed |

Chip, welcome to DisneyCentral. Well, staying on property, the only real options are on of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts. Those would include Old Key West, Boardwalk Villas, Beach Club Villas and Wilderness Lodge Villas. Another option may be the Disney Institute Villas, but they may all be closed now, and the transportation there isn't too good.
I would suggest looking at a 2-bedroom villa at either Old Key West (great transportation) or Boardwalk/Beach Club (right next to EPCOT). There are a couple of ways of going about staying there, either just plain renting, or by renting someone's points who owns there (they are all timeshares). One other option, but not on property, would be to stay at one of the Marriott Timeshares that are right outside of the main WDW entrance. The rooms are almost as nice as the Disney rooms, but the cost is about half. But you don't have the Disney transportation there, so it may not work. Let us know if you have any further questions. I tried to not go into too great of detail, not knowing which route you would rather take.

I don't know what you are looking to spend but I am going in October with 3 adults and 2 children. My mother is going with us and we just went ahead and did 2 rooms at Wilderness Lodge. I am getting an excellent rate because my husband is an airline employee but you could think about 2 connecting rooms at an All-Star resort if that suits your budget better. It is an option for you, it gives you your own room with the kids but with connecting rooms you still have togetherness (but not too much lol). Just a thought for you. Good luck.

Hello, and welcome to the boards chip! I definitly agree with Donna. I think getting 2 adjoining rooms at the all stars would be a great idea! You and your family would have your privacy, and the grandparents will have theres, there also will be 2 showers!!! lol. Also the price isnt to bad either, it would be around 160 dollars a night ( that is the price of 2 rooms!) that definitly beats the price of a 2 room villa which is 200+ (sorry mickey, no offense.) I'm not sure if they charge extra for an adjoining room, you should call and see, I dont think the price would be that much. And if that price is still alittle to high for your budget try mousesavers.com it has tons of discounts on disney resorts! Hope this helps!
Joe :)

The reason I didn't suggest the All Stars is that they are notorious for long walks to the bus stops. All of the Villa resorts are very compact, and all have very convenient bus and boat stops. The exception would be Old Key West, but the you can request to be in the newer buildings, and they are right next to the main bus stop, have elevators and the quality far surpasses anything you will find at any moderate resort, not to mention the All Stars.
The other positive, with 6 people, is that the villas all include 2 large bedrooms, a full kitchen and a living room. So, each set of adults has their own bedroom and bathroom, and the kids can sleep on the fold out couch. The full kitchen probably saves us $40 a day just on breakfast, not to mention treats, drinks and other foods. I would guess a 2 bedroom villa is easily 4 times as large as two All Star Room put together.
