Icon5 Port Orleans French Quarters????

I was wondering if anyone has stayed at the FQ since it has been refurbed? Or even before for that matter!! I booked our stay in Sept. and I thought I booked us into the POR and when I pulled it up it was booked in the POFQ!! Is there a GOOD bldg to request there?? Close to Pool/food court/ and mainly the bus stops!?!?

Also the POR has a great piano bar that we loved!!! Does anyone know if they have anything like that at POFQ or where we could find out!!

I have considered changing the reservation!! BUT it might be nice to stay somewhere else and with the current refurbs it might be nice to stay there!!

OPINIONS ~~~PLEASE!!!!! THANKS!!

Re: Port Orleans French Quarters????

I have not been or have had any friends go since the refurb. I do know that it was the typical Moderate room. It has a little more space than a Value and the bathroom is much larger. That is the biggest reason I would go with Moderate over Value. Small bathrooms drive me nuts!!! It was nice, and the pool was very nice! The easy access to DTD makes it a great choice too.

Re: Port Orleans French Quarters????

I'm actually going to be staying at the POFQ in July. I was there once about 11 years ago and I know some things have changed since then. They just renovated the rooms I know. As for the pool I think the pool is really cool especially for kids. It's the same as when I went all those years ago. We had a great experience when we stayed there but obviously many years have passed. I'm really looking forward to our stay there. Hope you like it too!

Here's a site that has some cool pics of the pool.

Re: Port Orleans French Quarters????

We stayed there earlier this month. We were in Bldg 6 and it was not at all far from the pool, food court, or bus stop. Really, most of the buildings in FQ are fairly close to them all. To be the closest you may want to request buildings 3,4 or 5. We really enjoyed the resort, I think you will too.
