2004 Passporter guide

Hey everyone!
So, I was searching and searching but I couldn't find anything about passporter on DC, so I had to start a new thread-sorry. I know there must be many threads about the guide book because i have seen it here in the past, but for some reason, my search isn't working. So, here is my question:
I just bought the 2004 passporter guide for my September trip. It will be my 14th time to WDW, 2nd time in a year. I have PAPs (which will be activated then) and a new disney visa card. HOW DO I USE THE PASSPORTER BOOK????? Or, do I even really need it, considering I'm somewhat of a WDW vetern?? Also, I have a few things (the paps and visa) to take advanage of any discounts. I know people here RAVE about the passporter, but I'm not really sure how to use it. To be honest, the book kinda intimidates me! haha Thanks for any tips!

Re: 2004 Passporter guide

I too, have the Passporter 2004 and took it on my January/February trip this year. I am more or less a WDW vet myself and still find that guide to be VERY valuable. I use every passpocket for my PS's and use the worksheets to figure my costs. I like keeping track of what I spend and notes on things I want to remember for the next trip. The maps are worth it alone. I love the new color ones in the 2004 edition. I like how it poses as a planner, organizer and a keepsake. I refer to each old one when I get my new one for each trip. In between trips, it makes nice reading material for someone like me who can never read to much about WDW. I use all the empty unused pockets for pictures, tickets, napkins etc. It really is a great book. I have trouble keeping myself organized unless things are written down and in one place. Another great thing me and my DD do with the passporter is our attraction picks. We make a must-see for each park and number it by importance to us. There is a spot where they list each attraction after the maps and it has a little box next to each attraction name. We number them and then map them out according to their place in the parks. Just a little fun thing to do while waiting for time to pass between trips. I don't think I would even consider planning without one of these guide books. I have been singing it's praises since joining DC. Just take some time to sit and read through this guide book and use it how you see fit. There is no wrong way to use a Passporter. You are suppose to tweek it for your own needs. Happy planning and have fun with your Passporter.

I use my Passporter to make notes so I can write a trip report when I return.

It's an excellent read. I hope it works as well for you as it does for me. You really can't go wrong with that guide.

Re: 2004 Passporter guide

As has already been said, it is an excellent guide. I bought my first Passporter for our trip in October. The maps of each park are wonderful.
I have already read it from cover to cover more than once. The tips on rides and time are great. I can hardly wait to start using the pockets.

Re: 2004 Passporter guide

I am a WDW vet too! Have been well over 50-75 times since a child. I bought the Passporter for the first time last year. I enjoyed reading about the different resorts(since these past two years was my first time staying onsite). I like to use it to keep all my confirmation #'s for PS's and my trip together. I also keep phone #'s of people i'm meeting up with while at Disney. I honestly didnt use it much while at the parks except for the restarunts info. It has come in handy too for my family and friends asking questions that I would really never think to ask. I bought the refil for my deluxe version and already started putting my new confermation #'s in it for this years trips.

I've also bought the 1st edition Disney Cruise Line passorter, and just ordered the 2nd edition for my cruise next year!!

Re: 2004 Passporter guide

Mine has been wonderful for planning... Does anybody actually carry theirs around the parks with them? It seems to bulky... But I have become somewhat dependant on it lately LOL!

Re: 2004 Passporter guide

I don't actually carry mine in the parks either. It's a bit bulky for my waist pack. I keep it in the room and make notes at the end of the day.

Re: 2004 Passporter guide

goofygal,

I saw that you have purchased the book regarding the cruise. Have you ever been? We are scheduled to go this August and can hardly wait! In fact, I was so excited to get the mail today (even with the potential of receiving bills) because the new Pass. cruise book was suppose to be in it. Alas, I was disappointed. There is always tomorrow!

Re: 2004 Passporter guide

tammysbowman....no I have not been on the cruise yet. I was scheduled to go this May 2004, but had to postpone it unti 5/2005. I learned sooo much from the passporter!! I cant wait to get the new one!! I too, have been rushing home to the mail box this past week waiting for the passporter DCL!!! Not here yet! I did get an email from Passporter that mine was mailed out 4/22. I picked the cheapest/slowest shipping method! I can't wait to get mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please Please do a trip report when you get back from your cruise! What ship are you sailing on??

Yes, it's a guide book that you can find in any local bookstore in their vast collection of travel books. You can also buy them online at paasporter.com or through internet bookstores. It's called the WDW Passporter. Be sure to get the 2004 edition with the colored maps. The previous editions had black and white ones. The 2004 edition also has stickers and colored tabs to mark your favorite pages or to notate PS's....excellent guide book/organizer/keepsake!

I would have to recommend that you purchase it through mousesavers.com. It is 30% off. It only cost 15.37 that way; however if you want to spend some extra money get the three-ring binder version which is refillable every year. It cost more the first year, but less each subsequent year. I wish we had seen that one first, because that was the one we would have gotten. Either way Mousesavers.com is the cheapest route to go. Here is the link:

Mousesavers.com Passporter 2004

or to help out DC and mickey, you can buy from amazon.com by clicking on the passporter at the bottom of DC's Home page.
