Saratoga Springs?
We are planning yet another trip to you-know-where. We originally planned on staying at Fort Wilderness Lodge, but Saratoga Springs looks very interesting to us. When we were at WDW last August, it looked as if SS was nearly completed. I realize it's a Vacation Club resort, but we were told that a certain number of rooms will be kept available for non-VC folks. Anybody have info on Saratoga Springs? (We're probably going to have to delay our trip from the original dates, so we can wait a little.)
Thanks! ![]()

Re: Saratoga Springs?
Last I heard is that it should be partially open sometime in May. The room layout will be the same as at Beach Club or Wilderness Lodge Villas. You shouldn't have a problem getting a room early on, since it isn't sold out yet. One thing to remember is that it is always more difficult to get a discount at a DVC resort than at a standard resort due to the limited number of available rooms.

Re: Saratoga Springs?
Our family bought into Saratoga Springs this year. We decided with our yearly, if not bi-annual trip to WDW/Florida, it was worth every penny to purchase a DVC package. We realized we could have paid off our DVC in another 5 years if we would have done it from the beginning. You might want to talk to a DVC rep when you go down the next time. It is not a typical time-share. If you use your points right, you can stay at a Vacation Club resort for almost 3 weeks during the year -- different from most time shares where you pay for one, two or three weeks a year. Just a suggestion. It was definitely worth our time when we did it in January.
Anyway, Saratoga officially opens June 2004. Hope you enjoy your trip. Express Mom 1996 - Sheraton 1997 - Coronado 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002 (2), & 2003 - Riverside (a.k.a. Dixie Landings) |

Re: Saratoga Springs?
We saw it, and it looks great! They were still putting the finishing touches on it, but it looks really luxurious! It looked like they might be building a boat dock across from Cirque du Soleil, so there might be boat service to Downtown Disney and Marketplace, like at POR and POFQ. That would be a nice perk!

Re: Saratoga Springs?
Yes -- it will service Downtown Disney with boat service, plus you can walk as well. We are looking forward to visiting in December for New Year's.

Re: Saratoga Springs?
Going in June, reserved room on December 1st .... 1st day reservations were available for DVC members who bought into Saratoga Springs. Can not wait to go. Have received numerous updates and the rooms look unbelievable. You can get a one bedroom studio, a one bedroom villa, two bedroom villa, or even a three bedroom villa. We love the idea that our kids can just walk right to Downtown Disney (16 year olds) and even to Typhoon Lagoon if you want to be adventuresome. WARNING .... I have seen pricing for Saratoga Springs on the Disney Vacation site for non-DVC and it can get a little bit expensive.

Re: Saratoga Springs?
If you are interested in staying at "villa" type lodgings, I would recommend that you look into Old Key West. Not only are the suites MUCH larger, and quite frankly, better laid out, OKW is slightly cheaper to rent than any other DVC property. Although it's futher from Downtown Disney than Saratoga, you can easily take the boat there.
