We have finally decided!!!!

After posting a poll, looking into several different travel companies, getting MANY different quotes and changing my mind 20 times, I have finally decided to go with the POLY!!

I appreciate all of the input from everyone on the POR and POP!! I am sure the POP is great and I know POR is great!! However, I have had this longing since last year to stay at the POLY and I found a great rate so I called Disney direct and they matched it!!! And the CM gave me all kinds of tips on where to look for the next several weeks for maybe even more of a discount!!
That CM was awesome!!! Very accommodating!!!

Now I need to know what room or bldg or location I should request at the POLY!!! Anyone??? Or anything else I should know or do while we stay there!!
I know nothing about the POLY so any suggestions would be helpful!! I am very excited about staying at a monorail hotel!! I think it will make some days very easy!!!

Good for you! We, too, fell in love with POLY on our last trip when we ate at O'Hana and Kona Cafe. We probaby will stay at POP next time, but POLY is definitely in our future plans!

The Polynesian is a great hotel! You will love it there. Try Kona Cafe -- I love it there.

Congrats on your upcomong stay at the Polly. I am staying there in Jan. 05 and can hardly wait to stay there. As for which buildings are best, I have been doing some major research there. If you are going to have a garden view, Tonga and Rarotonga are closest to the Great Cermonial House, but Niue and Samoa are close to both the Great Ceremonial House and the pools. If you have a Lagoon view, Hawaii and Tuvalu are right on the water and located near the pools and the Great Ceremonial House. I think Hawaii is the concierge building. It depends on what you are looking for. If you want peace and quiet go with a building away from the center of things like Rapa Nui or Tahiti. I cna't imagine there being a bad room in this entire resort. It is wrapping up a total renovation of all the longhouses or may even been done with that I am not sure. I got all this information from looking at the map of the resort. I haven't ever stayed there. Again, congrats on your choice., I can't wait to hear how your stay goes becasue I will be staying there not to long after you. Happy planning!

That is exciting news! To be able to stay at the resort you wanted at the rate you expected! Good job!

I know that guests really love the pool there. I haven't been in decades, but I remember going to the Luau dinner as a child and having a lot of fun.

OK you are the second person in the past year that has told me that they found "a great deal online" for the Poly, and Disney matched it. Where did you find it??? If I found this maybe we could go ahead and book our next trip!!

You know I actually found it thru Mouseketrips and was calling disney to cancel and the CM did not ask me the rate at first and after pulling up every possible option (all different delux hotels) his price on the POLY was the same as Mouseketrips so I went with it!! Good Luck

He also said he anticipates fall deals to be coming out and told me to watch both my travel section of the Sunday paper and the internet, also Radio announcements!! He was AWESOME!! His name was Abner!!! Best CM Ive experienced when booking a trip!!!!

We stayed at the Tokelau and it was perfect for us. It is quiet and it is in between the Great Ceremonial House and the TTC. It's a beautiful resort - make sure you eat at O'Hanas and get the Tonga Toast at the Kona Cafe.

You can also get a great view of the fireworks from the Polynesian Beach without the huge crowd!

Ok I feel really stupid but

What exactly is the Great Ceremonial house ? Never stayed there so I am not sure of anything there!!!

We are kinda looking for a room close to the pool and Food court! Do they have a food court at the POLY??

The Great Ceremonial House is the center of the Polynesian universe. It's where check-in is located, the restaurants, the monorail stop, etc... And there is no food court, just restaurants. O'Hanas, Kona, and Captain Jacks.
Don't feel silly. It is a sprawling resort that takes a little while to get a feel for.

They also have two pools. The volcano pool is big and fun. Kids love it. There is also the Quiet Pool. (Right by Tokelau) It is (as they say) quiet.
