wilderness lodge questions
My wife and I stayed at Wilderness Lodge once, about 2 years ago. Her first time to Disney, while I have stayed at about 3/4 of all Disney resorts at some time or another. We both absolutely loved the Lodge, and consider it our favorite hotel in the world (not Disney world, the entire world). Anyway enough of my rambling. We are staying there agian later this year and I have been reading some things on the web about features of the Lodge I did not realize existed when we were there before. Can anyone answer these 2 questions: First, I was aware that there is a gym, as part of the Villas extension. But I saw somewhere that they also offer massages here? If this is accurate where can I find out price information? Second, another website mentioned there was a walk out accessible to the public, on like the 4th floor? Is this true? Any information would be appreciated.

Re: wilderness lodge questions
Sturdy Branches is located in the Villas, and their prices are as follows:
Swedish Massage: 25 minutes $50 50 minutes $75 75 minutes $125 Upgrades +$15 Normally, they require you to pay a membership fee each day if you are staying in the lodge, though if you are going for a massage, there is no membership fee for that day. You can call the fitness center directly at 407-938-4222. Not sure what you mean by a walk out. On the fourth and fifth floors in the lobby, there are great places just to sit and relax. Nice nooks with big comfortable chairs. If you go to the top floor, there is an area that overlooks the front of the resort (it is outside), and near the back of the lobby, there is an area that overlooks the courtyard/pool area.

Re: wilderness lodge questions
Thanks for the information on the massage. I thought I read somewhere on the web that there was a balcony type thing, where you actually walked out on a little patio with chairs to enjoy the view... never noticed anything like this when we stayed there, that's why i was asking.

Re: wilderness lodge questions
The "walk out" may be the balcony on the 4th floor. I believe it is call "The Sunrise Balcony." It looks our over the pool area and the lake. We were in rooms 4077 and 4074 and the balcony was right next to our rooms. It was fairly large, very nice, and open to the public. While we were there we saw a wedding take place and it looked like 20+ people could fit easily. It was too hot for us to sit out side and enjoy it but in the cooler months it would be lovely.
As you are checking in look to your left and up one floor and the balcony is right there, directly across from the main doors.

Re: wilderness lodge questions
We only saw one wedding there the entire week but we were pretty busy and on the go most of the time. However, I could tell there were many weddings there because they have a sign that read something like "Quiet, wedding in progress." During the cooler times of the year this would be a great place to hang out, the view is great.

Re: wilderness lodge questions
When you check in, ask if you can be a "flag family" one day during your trip. You get to go up on the roof of the Lodge with one of the "Rangers" and raise the flags. The view is spectacular!
