A question about making reservations

I just made reservations for port orleans french quarters. I reserved 2 rooms because I have my family and my brothers family going. I told him I wanted to rooms right next to each other, and was told that they(the person taking our reservations) would make note of this but it was no guarantee that this would happen. He said that he put both rooms under one name and that they would try to make sure we would get 2 rooms together.. I guess my question is is why cant they guarantee us 2 conjoining rooms? we are not going until may of next year.. Or is there anyone else I can talk to down there to make sure we get conjoining rooms.... Thanks to anyone who can help...

Jason, welcome to DisneyCentral! Don't stress about it, they never promise anything when you call them to make a reservation. They do that so if some reason they can't fill that request, you don't get mad at them. Just call the resort, or send a fax a week before you leave, and make the request directly to the resort. That way they have it fresh when assigning your room, and you will have a much better chance. I have made several requests for specific rooms or buildings, and they have always been fulfilled.

Oh, by the way, make sure you keep your eyes peeled for discounts. They should be announced sometime next spring for your time period.

Welcome to DC Jason

Mickey is right ..they never promise ( dont believe it if you hear from someone they do ) but ..they will do all they can to make sure the give you what you request. Like Mickey said call and or fax them your request before you go .. you might even do this twice and remind them when you get there at the desk before they get started of your request. they have always given us what we asked for .. sometimes they even do better then you ask :)

We always request non-smoking, not just because we're not smokers but because my husband has severe allergies. Well, when we went to check in at the Grand Floridian (of all places) we were told there were no non-smoking rooms available. We had made the reservations nearly a year in advance, but didn't do the fax thing. We also had never been told that these "requests" were not guaranteed, even though they appeared on our reservation confirmation. We really had to put up a fuss in order to get a non-smoking room. It kind of started the trip off on the wrong foot, but it got better from then on. Now I just make sure I tell whoever that I must have a non-smoking room because my husband has severe allergies & I've never had any problems. That was definitely a learning experience for me.
