Tip for sports fans

Just a little tip I have for sports fans. My DH and two DSs are HUGE sports fanatics. They look forward to going to the ESPN club more than anyplace else at WDW. The day before our last trip, I called the ESPN club to find out what athletes or famous sports figures would be appearing during our visit. Then I rearranged some of our schedule so the guys would be able to see some of them. We were able to meet and get autographs and pics with Linda Cohn, Bobby Bowden, Lee Corso, and some football player whose name is now escaping me. (there were sports people appearing there nightly). These visits to the ESPN club were the highlights of the trip for my sports junkies.

Re: Tip for sports fans

We ate at ESPN Club on your night w/o DS. The food and atmosphere were great, prices too. They have sports casters and get you involved in a, I think fake, taping of a sports comentator type show. While we were there, they were picking on Phila. PA saying that we were hard up for a winning team and we are putting all we have into a horse, Smarty Jones. It was pretty funny. My DH knew the sports casters, I didn't of course, but it was fun.

Re: Tip for sports fans

Get out! What month did you go? Was it a evening or day thing? I pride myself on knowing a great deal of what is happening at WDW and I've never heard of this. Get out!

We have to check this out!

They always do that. They are so cool about it. If someone is filming something they'll tell you. I usually bring a pack of index cards also because you never know who might just show up! But they have no problem telling you who will be there.

Re: Tip for sports fans

I called two days before we went. They had the schedule ahead for about a week to ten days. One of the scheduled guests, a hockey player, had to cancel since they were still in the playoffs. The sports people we saw were usually there around 6 or 6:30 in the evening, except on the weekend when it was during the day. Of course, that was the NFL draft so daytime may not be the norm. Good luck! Hope you see lots of biggies! (btw, we were there mid april)

After finding this.....

I am very disappointed. I doubt, the week after all this, there will be much happening, when my family and I are there.
