Disney called re: Toy Story Meal
I recieved a call from Disney and theCM Thanked me for my caring enough to write , Disney values my opinion yada yada yada. Then we got into the "meat" pun intended of the conversation. I told her there were 4 or more princess meals and NO meals for boys. She seemed taken aback and we went through them. Then she mentioned that Buzz's costume has poor visability. I replied that if Buzz can do ice capades and flip on ice I'm sure a meal with a bunch of 3 yr olds wouldn't be more of a challenge. I also said that several charactors stand stationary , like Goofy at CM or Piglet at CP. She told me that of course Disney takes all suggestions seriously but that if people don't seem to be asking for something then the likelyhood of it happening is not great. Sooo keep those letters and e mails coming. Although personally I think its harder to ignore a physical letter on your desk. Pesky e mails can be deleted.
Thanks for your help. Maybe together we can get this done. |

Re: Disney called re: Toy Story Meal
wow twinglemom! you got a call from disney in regards to the toy story meal? that's amazing. the toy story meal campaign is making progress. i've asked before for the address or email address to send to disney to express my opinion about the character meal but i never got both addresses. do you, by any chance, have them? congrats on making a progress. i was thinking of something like a petition. i was thinking that i would ask everyone for their email address and type a letter to disney. at the end of the letter, i would have a seperate sheet of paper with everyone's names and email addresses. maybe something like that would push this campaign a little further. what do you think?

Re: Disney called re: Toy Story Meal
You made very good points to counter the CM's about the visibility in the costumes. I wish they had a Toy Story meal. That would be awesome.

I think it's great that they replied to you. It shows that they kinda care about what peoople think. I too think that if the letters keep rolling in they will have to listen.

Re: Disney called re: Toy Story Meal
I think that you are right about needing more meals for boys! I have a DD and a DD and I would like to take them to a meal for both of them. I think that Disney should have a House of Mouse restaurant at MGM themed after the cartoon on the Disney Channel. The interior of the restaurant could be just like the restaurant in the cartoon and the "guests"(characters) could rotate, just like in the cartoon. I think that it would be an instant hit if they had both boy and girl characters at the meal. It would be a perfect place to rotate characters and provide the unexpected at each visit. What do you think?

I have sent my letter but If someone does get a petition going I would be more than happy to "sign" it with my e-mail address.

I've often thought that same thing myself. I mean, they have a cartoon restaurant, why not have a real one that's just like it? I can just see some of the cuisine--candy "bugs" for desert, like what they serve Pumbaa and Timon, some honey pots available like what they'd serve Pooh, etc. I think this would be absolutely awesome! Oooh! oooh! oooh! And what about having a huge screen up at the front that plays Disney cartoons? Maybe three times a day, have Mickey come out for a "show" and introduce the shows, maybe have an animatronic band, something along those lines? While I realize to have something along these lines would be expensive, I think it would be popular enough that they'd quickly turn a profit in this restaurant. JMHO

Re: Disney called re: Toy Story Meal
It would be great for a boys meal. Can anyone find the e-mail address of the person who could make a decision about this. I am sure if we flood his in-box with request he would at least look at it. Please post the address and name of that person on this tread and I am sure we all would send a note. Thanks for the idea and I will be glad to help.

Re: Disney called re: Toy Story Meal
The person I was directed to write to was George Calabrese. The address was WDW Guest Communications, PO Box 10,000 Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830. I never tried email because as I stated before I felt a letter was harder to ignore. I kept picture that scene from Miracle on 34th street when the post office dumps all the Santa letters on the judge's desk. Keep the letters coming. Thanks

Re: Disney called re: Toy Story Meal
I think that would be a great idea for a character meal. Most of the meals consist of the same characters (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Donald). Our DS was starting to get board with the same characters. Next time I want to take him to the 1900 Park character meal with the villans, something different. I was also thinking of the Pooh meal.
I am gonna write also!!!

Re: Disney called re: Toy Story Meal
Hi Twigglemom,
Here is what I sent to Disney regarding the character meals for boys and their reply, quite interesting: My inquiry: Dear Sir/Madam: I am writing to inquire about a possible character meal that features characters for boys. While reviewing the character meal options I noticed that there were quite a few exclusively for girls and NOT one exclusively for boys. As the parent of a toddler boy who loves Toy Story, Monsters, Inc. and the Jungle Book, I would be delighted if these characters could be added to the existing list of character meals. Toy Story & Monsters Inc. might be successful at Disney MGM and the Jungle Book at the Animal Kingdom. Thank you for your time and attention. Disney's reply: This will acknowledge, with thanks, your electronic communication regarding a dining idea that you have indicated might be of interest to us. We are always pleased to hear from our guests and appreciate the fact that you took the time to write to us. As to your product though, I must explain that our company's long-established policy does not allow us to accept for review or consideration any ideas, suggestions, or creative materials not specifically solicited by us or our subsidiaries. I trust you will understand that it is our intention to avoid misunderstandings when projects are created internally which might be similar to submissions made to us from outside the company. |

Re: Disney called re: Toy Story Meal
Ressieb,
I don't think that I understand Disney's reply. Let's see... they are saying Thanks for contacting us but we are not allowed to listen to you. That seems so un-disneylike. Maybe I am reading their reply wrong. Lisa ![]()
