Idea for character meal
I have a 2.5 year old who loves the whole Peter Pan storyline. He loves everything about it...Peter Pan, Wendy, John, Michael, Tink, Pixie Dust, Lost Boys, Indians, and of course the PIRATES. He watches the cartoon versions of Peter Pan I and II, as well as the movie Peter Pan that came out a few years ago. He actually thinks the movie has "the real Peter Pan" since it is a person, not a cartoon. I cant tell you how many times a week he asks to watch it.
I definitely think there should be a character meal geared towards Peter Pan fans. When we go to Magic Kingdom we spend quit a bit of time searching out Hook, Smee and Peter Pan. In the last 3 trips there we have yet to catch-up with Peter Pan or Wendy (my brother and neices were lucky enough to run into them). Hook and Smee are normally easy to find. Just curious is there are any other Peter Pan story fans out there... |

Re: Idea for character meal
Hi. A Peter Pan character meal would be great but it sounds like your son would love the treasure hunt at MK. I don't know the exact details on this so maybe someone else could chime in but from what I understand they take the kids around the park on a treasure hunt and at the end they meet up with Peter Pan then they go on the Peter Pan ride.
Also, if he loves Pirates there is a pirate cruise from the Grand Floridian that you might want to look into. Hope this helps. Lisa ![]()

Re: Idea for character meal
I definitely would consider the treasure hunt and the pirate cruise for my son if he were older. He is only 2.5 yrs old. I dont think I would be comfortable sending him on something like that unless I could be there with him. But if he continues his fascination with the Peter Pan story we will let him do that when he is older.

Re: Idea for character meal
I think the Treasure Hunt at MK is for the family so you would be with him but I do see your point about the Pirate Cruise.

Re: Idea for character meal
Have you taken him to Neverland Club at Poly? It is great babysitting, and it used to be our kids' favorite "attraction" when they were little! The kids are sprinkled with pixie dust and then clomb out of Wendy's bedroom window, into Neverland, where there are movies, games, characters, buffet dinner, etc... they hate to leave!

Re: Idea for character meal
OMG The Neverland Club would be right up Carson's alley. I would NEVER be able to get him out of there. We have always wanted to stay at the the Poly Resort but never could swing the cost of it. We have the disney visa and accumulate points. We decided we would keep saving til we maxed the points out (750 points) then use them on a Deluxe Resort. Maybe that will be the resort we pick. It will be awhile though unfortunately. We have I think 103 points.
Thanks for the info on it though |

Re: Idea for character meal
You don't have to be staying at the resort to use the Neverland Club. You pay an hourly rate per child and then you and your husband can enjoy a nite out. I don't know if they take kids under 4 though.

Re: Idea for character meal
The Pirate Cruise is awesome (accroding to my 8 YO DD), but you have to be at least 4 years old and sadly parents can not go. It costs about $25 per child, lasts two hours and books up almost as fast as breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table.
The Neverland CLub is really a babysitting facility. It looks cool and my daughter has joined some fun activities there, but not really 100% geared toward Peter Pan. Hope this helps!

I have a 7 yr old son and 3 yr old daughter. We also watch Peter Pan the orginal cartoon movie, and Peter Pan the broadway play w/ Mary Martin. My children are absolute Peter Pan fans. Its the first ride we must ride when we go into the MK.

Re: Idea for character meal
I don't know if this will help anyone, but when we had breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table, Peter Pan was there. He took pictures with the kids, signed autographs and let out a few "rooster squaks". The kids thought that was so cool!

Re: Idea for character meal
Like someone mentioned above, if you have a group of 8 or more (maybe you can find others here on DC to join in with you!) you can do a magical gatherings wishes cruise. It is just awesome!! You start out at the contemporary at a reception with Hook and smee and lots of yummy appetisers. Then you take a wonderful cruise with your own private viewing of the electrical water parade. Your "host" on the boat is a pirate (ours was named "left patch") and then the boat sits right in front of the train station for Wishes..and they pipe the music right in to the boat. Afterwards they take you back to to the contemporary and peter pan is waiting at the boat dock to greet everyone and give each child a copy of his latest book (peter pan 2) and sign autographs and take photos. It was hands down one of the best experieces we've ever had at WDW!!! Oh, and Peter Pan is holding a lantern with tinkerbell "inside" of it...it was a neat touch, too!

Re: Idea for character meal
Character meals seem like huge draws. Disney should try and squeeze in as many as possible, with as wide a variety of characters as possible, IMO.
