Breakfest at the Castle
I have ALWAYS wanted to go to the restaurant in the castle but never seem to get around to doing it for some reason or another. We normally eat at the food court at the hotel we are staying in. We will be going to MK saturday with the rest of my family (my parents, and my brother with his family). I was wondering what does breakfest at the castle run for say two adults and one child? When we go to disney we expect meals at sit-down restaurants to be pricey. My brother tends to be a little frugal when it comes to meals. He normally brings cereal for his kids and they eat in the hotel room prior to venturing out. When they are in the parks he and his wife insist that they get one meal (counter-service) and share it. And out of that they give their 2 kids (ages 4 and 2) food as well. His reply when I asked him if he would want to eat at the castle was "I am not paying $80 for breakfest...I could use that $80 someplace else". Would it really run them that much at the castle? <funny thing is he is a pharmacist and makes more money then me and dh put together>
We had asked them to meet us for this weekend so it would be pretty rude for us to go to the castle to eat and leave them at the hotel with their pop tarts and cereal. Maybe the next trip without them we will do it...<sigh> |

Re: Breakfest at the Castle
For Cinderella's Royal Table, the cost is: Adults $19.99, Children Under 11 $9.99. That does not include tax or gratuity. For the three of you, you can figure on about $65 for breakfast. While you obviously can get breakfast for less, you cannot eat it in Cinderella's Castle with a bunch of princesses.
One problem I see is that to get into the castle, you have to call 90 days out. I have heard of others stopping by and getting in, due to cancellations, but it happens rarely. Have you considered lunch? No princesses, but an a la carte menu. Probably will be a bit less expensive as well.

Re: Breakfest at the Castle
Mickey,
Thanks for the info. I think we probably will pass on the Royal Table this trip. Truthfully, I dont think my 2.5 yr old son would care about having a meal with the Princesses. I was the one actually who wanted to eat at "the royal table" lol. Now if it was a meal with the Toys Story gang, Peter Pan & friends, or Monsters, Inc you can bet my son would want to be the first to go in. I did think my neices would have loved the castle meal but that is up to their father <my brother>. Oh well...next time |

Re: Breakfest at the Castle
We're doing it....(I hope, haven't called yet). Why? Because we most likely won't do WDW again, for several years at the very least if at all, and my 4 year old will need lifelong therapy if we miss it. Serious. She's already talking about it.

It's a shame that your DB is being like that. I guess skip them. Any chance that you can get a 8am PS and then meet them in the park when it opens. You get the best of both worlds that way.

We will see how it goes..maybe once we are there I will be able to convince him. We are driving up friday morning and should get to the hotel by lunch time (3 hr drive). My brother wont be there until that evening (he refused to take his 5 yr old out of school for one day so they could drive up friday morning) Maybe we could crash a restaurant that afternoon and catch a character meal. We will see how ds is at that time. We arent making any definite plans. Been there, done that, and the "Prince of Darkness" was born We are still thinking they have a picture of my son on the monorail saying "dont allow this child on the monorail or into the parks" lol We are crazy for attempting this again... |

Re: Breakfest at the Castle
No, I don't think you are crazy. He may surprise you this time around. It's been awhile, so maybe he will react better. If you get there at a decent hour on Friday, you will be able to go to Chef Mickey's for dinner at the Contemporary. Great character meal that you don't have to pay park admission for.
