Is it me, or is WDW not doing PS's???

I called yestserday around 1, and now this morning around 9:50. 407 939 3463. Both times I go through this long automated menu -- not V&A, for a later trip, my phone #, been before etc.etc. Only to get a recording thanking me for my patience and THEN a recording saying "due to unforeseen circumstsances" they are unable to take my call and then the thing hangs up on me. I don't get it. If the call center is closed, then why did it make me go through all THAT before telling me? And if it is not, then why has it hung up on me twice? Do I have to keep calling and calling every five minutes because they aren't closed just busy, or do I have to wait another day (or two or three) because they aren't taking PSs anymore?

I know the systems went down several times yesterday due to heavy use. Normally, my wait to call in is less than 2 minutes, and yesterday, it was about 45 minutes. One time I was on hold for 52 minutes before I got someone, and as soon as I got my confirmation number in there, the system crashed, and I had to call back later.

I think with the hurricane, they were still changing vacations for those who were to arrive yesterday. Try back later this afternoon. The wait this morning was only about 3 minutes.

My guess is they are still recovering form the latest storm. I would wait a day or two to let them sort things out a bit. I do agree that one of the scourges of the 21st century is automated phone service, if not done very well it really alienates people!

That's a great way to put that - what are companies thinking that rely on customer service? (I know, I know --- money.) But I hate automated phone service.

I called last night around 8:40, was on hold for about 10 minutes and then was on the phone for about 30 minutes. {Please refer to my other post} So, it sounds like luck of the draw.

I do agree that the long message is annoying if they can't take your call. Especially considering that they don't publicize the toll-free number.

Uuuuhhh, what toll-free number? ! !

I guess I'll just have to keep trying at random times during the day. Looks like from what you guys have said that they're not down, just that it crashes when they're super-busy.

It's funny, one of the other things that happened during my call last night is that the CM said that I came in on the "package" number.

Is that where this number came from?
