Wish I could eat...

Boring little thought to share:
As I stand here in my kitchen, putting some ham between two slices of dry bread while I wait for my Campbell's soup to heat up , I can't help but think about how much I would rather be at WDW eating crab legs at Fulton's, accompanied by pretzel rolls from Biergarten, brie soup from Hollywood Brown Derby and mushrooms from Rose & Crown.... and of course, a Napoleon from the patisserie in France Pavilion for dessert .

Oh my goodness. A WDW meal would definetly be way better than my lunch today. I can just taste the ice cream cookie sandwhich from PC Food Court....

Re: Wish I could eat...

Do we all think like this? I thought I was just wacky. We bought our Disney cook book, so we can try to bring home the magic, but it's not the same.
I could go for a nice Dole Whip right now!

Re: Wish I could eat...

At the Disney Home Store, we bought some kitchen towels and one has the recipe for Mickey Pancakes.

I made them every Sunday for a month after we got home. Since then I make them about twice a month. Nothin better than pancakes from scratch.

Of course, my pancakes tend to look more like sandanv1's avatar.. but that's another subject. LOL

Re: Wish I could eat...

My father in law loves the salad dressing from O'hanas that he makes it fresh & keeps it in the fridge at all times!! LOL

I have an older Disney cookbook that my parents bought me about 10 years ago ~ perhaps I should dig it out and make myself a WDW feast!

Re: Wish I could eat...

Sunday is macaroni day in our home (Italian) and whenever I make ravioli, my DH and DS bring up Chef Mickey's ravioli's.

There is not a day that goes by that I am not remenissing of WDW, be it food, attraction, music, a smell, anything! I am still trying to figure a way to get back there this year. My DS has just asked if I have planned our next trip yet.

Ugh, I need a fix now!!!

Re: Wish I could eat...

Hiner... OK, if you get really desperate, you could try my desperation plan... Get in the car when the kids get out of school on a Tuesday. Drive from PA overnight to Orlando (th ekids will sleep in the car), and you can be at the gates of the MK when they open the next morning... Call your kids' school at 8:30 a.m. to tell them that your kids are feverish and will not be attending today. Enjoy the day at MK, and at around 4 p.m., hit the road again... you'll be back in PA in time for school the next morning! Just take a change of clothes for the kids on Thursday, and a box of Pop Tarts so they can have a well-rounded breakfast before they get to their classrooms! And don't worry if you find yourself a little road weary and sleepy; you can sleep it off over the weekend! Oh, and you have to "coach" your kids about what to tell the teacher Thursday morning at school: "I feel a lot better!" is appropriate, and "Space Mountain was a blast yesterday!" is not...
(Note to all: I wouldn't REALLY do this...)

Wow. That is what I would call a true whirl wind trip. I have often thought of leaving Northern Michigan on a Thursday when the kids get out of school, but it is such a drive for us. Maybe we will try it when I can't stand waiting for our next trip any longer.

Re: Wish I could eat...

As i sit hear and eat this mcdonald's cheese burger filled with fat, carbs and grease, I am dreaming of the wonton at O'hanna's and the steak on skewers. I wouldn't mind having a LeCellier steak or the soup either.
