Whispering Canyon

I really love 50's Prime Time and from what I've been reading in some other forums, it sounds like Whispering Canyon is kind of along the same lines. Can anyone tell me a little more about it? What they do, what the food's like? Thanks so much!

Oh, and for the record... I'm 18 but a little kid at heart... would the silliness be a little too much for me & some friends my age, or is it the same kind of Prime Time silliness?

Thanks again to you all! :)

WC is AWESOME!!! It is fun for all ages! You need to do things like ask for a big water or ketchup or use your cell phone!! Ask where the restroom is there is all kinds of things that are a hoot!! The food is great especially the pork chops!!
Always a must do on our list!!

Re: Whispering Canyon

Whispering Canyon is Family Style BBQ food. It is a energetic, fun restaurant. There is a ton of entertainment and the kids just love it!! The adults have fun too. I think the food was typical of Disney quality, which to me is good. If you don't like crowd participation while you are dining then this is NOT the place for you.

Re: Whispering Canyon

My DD and I loved Whispering Canyon while staying at the WL in 2002. The food is either family style all you can eat and consists of : ribs and BBQ stuff or you can order entrees off the menu like steak, Chicken and ribs. We did it two nights for dinner one night with the all you can eat thingy and the other night off the menu. I like the menu option better than the all you can eat. My DD was just the opposite. I had steak and it was HUGE and very delious. They also have an all you can eat breakfast and I like that a lot as did my DD. You have got to be an out going person and like to have fun with the waitstaff to get the full-effect at this restaurant. The staff is loud and full of little pranks to make the night one you will never forget, but in a good way. They have stick pony races around the room for the kids and that is really cute to watch. Definately give it one try.

Re: Whispering Canyon

It is so worth a try! I love it more than my kids! Last time we were there, our waitress made us all silly hats out of our napkins. It's loud, fun and the food is really great. I've had the all you can eat and ordered off the menu & enjoyed both. You can't go wrong!

Re: Whispering Canyon

We ate there a couple of weeks ago fairly late, so it wasn't to active. There were only three tables being used in the entire restaurant, so the servers were not going all out. The table next to us asked for ketchup, so I did get to see that. The food was good, above average, and I would go there again if I was staying at the WL.

Re: Whispering Canyon

We had dinner there Fri. at 8pm. It was in full rowdy mode. Most of the diners had napkins either on their heads or around their necks. Some had multiple straws sticking out of the napkins to simulate horns. They did 2 wooden horse races while we were there, also the hokey pokey. It was loud and wonderful. And you can't beat a place that has all you can drink milk shakes

When we went there with the kids, the staff was "picking on" someone with a IOA shirt . It was so funny. Repeat after me........ LOL!

Re: Whispering Canyon

WC is one of my husband's and mine favourite restaurants at Disney. The waiters and waitresses can be downright silly. On our first trip to Disney as a dating couple, my, (now), husband arranged for his four best friends and their girlfriends/wives to come and meet up with us. We all went to breakfast at the WC and we ALL asked for water. So the waiter takes our mugs and we think nothing of it. However, three minutes later he comes back with a clear plastic BUCKET filled with water, ice and lemon wedges and plops it down in the centre of our table. He then throws a pile of straws on the table next to it and says "When yer finished with that, there's more in the creek out back!" We have never laughed so hard!

Re: Whispering Canyon

Oh my goodness, I almost forgot about ther time someone asked for a fingerbowl. The waitress made everyone in the restaurant raise their two "Disney fingers" and point at the guy who asked for the fingerbowl. She said "Now everyone repeat after me....THIS IS NOT THE GRAND FLORIDIAN!" LOL!
