DS's 14th Birthday at Ohana's

I just made a PS at Ohana's for Jan. 10. This idea occured to me on the way home from work. The day we arrive in WDW is my DS's 14th birthday. I spoke with the CM and he told me that he will mark our PS as a birthday celebration and to call 48 hours in advance to let them know the details of what we want. We didn't really consider Ohana's but since all DCers had spoken so highly of it, I figured it was a great place.

Has anyone else has a celebration at one of the restaurants in WDW? What should I expect? Any other suggestions to making his birthday special in WDW? We won't have much time since we will not be in WDW till around 4pm.

Getting ready to make PS for CRT tomorrow morning - any suggestions as to the best time? We are not staying on property so EE is not an option for us.

Thanks,

Jen

The only resturaunt I could think of that might be better is Chef Mickey's, just because of all the characters. I know they would give you special attention for that. Ohanas food is way better, stick with it!

Ohana's is definitely better - especially for a 14 year old. Dana's daughter celebrated her birthday there last year. They brought her a cupcake with candle and sung happy birthday - which is probably just about right for a 14 year old boy.

It was great just like llama said. Definately let the waitstaff know and also tell the CM on WDW-DINE.

I told the CM and he said that we can have a cake. He told me to call back 48 hours before our PS to tell them exactly what we want. Now if I can just wait till Christmas morning to let him know the plan......it's killing me!

You CAN have a cake and they are amazing. We had one at 1900 Park Fare for our friend's 6 year old. Perla, (the mouse from Cinderella) brought it out with the waiters.
Very cute! And she was sooo surprised!

He doesn't know? Oh how cool is that? You have to post a report when you get back. I can't wait to hear the reaction he has.

None of the kiddies will know about the trip till Christmas morning. Nik won't find out about our dinner till we're there. Also, since we'll be up and about early, I think I'm going to have a few presents shipped to my MIL since we'll be stopping there after we land so he has something to open.
