Restaurant Review

Are there any opinions out there about the Artists Point Restaurant at WL?

I was thinking of changing my PS yet again. This time from Jiko (not sure that they boys would like it) to Artists Point.

Thanks for your input

Re: Restaurant Review

Haven't tried that one. I stayed at the WL, but only went ot whispering canyon. Have you looked in the restaurant review section on DC? It's suppose to be very nice there. what about O'hanna or Whispering canyon? Still a big person's meal that the kids will love.

Re: Restaurant Review

Artist point is very nice. We only had cocktails and appetizers there (and a Character breakfast, along time ago, Pooh in a Park Ranger outfit.)

If you go there, look up on the ceiling, there is a territorial map - look closeley on a horse, and you may see our little friend.

Re: Restaurant Review

Check out the reviews here:

Artist's Point

Jiko

Personally, I love both of these, just fantastic restaurants. The cool think about Jiko is that you can arrive early and walk around the resort and see animals, etc. The kids menus at each restaurant are about the same, Mac and Cheese, Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich, etc. They do have stuff like Salmon as well, which is nice. I think either one is a good choice, though I would lean towards no kids at either of these, the meals can take a while.

Re: Restaurant Review

Hi Dana, I have read the menu's on allears... I am still trying to find a place for the big anniversay dinner. But didn't want to make this so unusual that the kids wouldn't get any enjoyment out of it.( Personally V&A sounds up my alley) I don't like entertainment with my food either. So the dinner shows are definately out, I think. O'Hana I think won't be it and Whispering Canyon sounds nice but not special enough. Does that make sense?
But just between Jiko and Artists Point--what is your opinion

Re: Restaurant Review

Oh hi Dennis and Mickey, I didn't see you there. My kids although only 10 years old are 5ft.5' and weigh about 120 lbs. They would definately order of the adult menu. They are also used to eating at very sophisticated (meaning all the trappings, right down to cocktail hour (Shirley Temples ) restaurants. I was just a little worried about the exotic spices at Jiko but one never knows, kids do surprise us.

Re: Restaurant Review

Ah yes, I have one of those. Jiko's food is definitely not the norm, but you can get stuff there that resembles food items your kids might eat on a normal sunday dinner. This is a tough choice, but I would go for Jiko. Order the Monkfish, totally out of this world. The lamb is fantastic, if you like lamb that is.

With kids? I would go for jiko. You could opt to use the child's facility at the AKL (they serve dinner for them) and have a nice dinner for you and your DH. My DD loved their kid's club. You could do Boma too at the AKL. That's a little more kid friendly. I totally understand what you mean about not special enough. It's a special occassion. You want a bit of romance. I would seriously consider using the kid's club...it's fun for them and you and DH get a hour or two to have "adult time". It's your day...you deserve that.

Re: Restaurant Review

Artist's Point is a very beautiful setting. I seem to remember that I had salmon there, and enjoyed it. How about one of the restaurants of Epcot?

Re: Restaurant Review

Thanks all, I will sleep on this and decide over night. I haven't had monkfish since we left Ca. I have been to Mickey's links. It's hard. No it isn't, we'll do both. I'll scrap one of the other PSs and we'll make it to both restaurants.

Thanks, I will submit a report if you want.
