My Disney Girl Tea Party

After reading Lawwins TR, I looked this up on WDW.com. From both the site and from Lawwin, this sounds like something if just HAVE to do with my DDs ages 9 and 8 (at the time of the trip) One thing, how do I justify the money? What I would like to know is who else has done this before, was it worth the money and how far in advance do you have to make reservations and when you do, what kind of deposit is needed? (I know, 20 questions) I told Stu that this seems like a once in a lifetime chance to do this with my daughters (dramatic, yet effective) and that it's something we will cherish and something we'll never forget it. I get chills thinking of my younger DD, Zoe, at something like this. She is truly a princess at heart. Of course, this would be a surprise.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated. I'm kinda sitting the fence about this.

Thanks!
Jen

Re: My Disney Girl Tea Party

Jen -
You should definatley do it. You got those extra WDW funds and this would be a once in a lifetime thing for them. They are only little once Jen...make this trip as magical as you can. They are at the perfefct age to enjoy this for all that it is. I wish my DD would like something like this, but it's not "cool"..lolol see what I mean about them growing up to fast? Go for it.
Make it part of their special gift. Your DH and your boys can do a special "guy thing" while you ladies attend.

Re: My Disney Girl Tea Party

Here is another link to with more info and pictures from this party. I also have some pictures from this event, however I have not gotten them processed yet. Here is the link:

All Ears My Disney Girl Princess Tea

By the way I forgot to mention the bracelet from Princess Aurora that the little Princesses get. It is tucked into their napkin that is in their teacup. It has a little pink crystal heart on it.

From my vantage point having been there, justifying it is easy for what you get and the once in a lifetime memories that you take away. This is so unlike any other character meal. There are very few little girls at this. It is not a large room. It is like mommy and me time with your girls only better because it involves all things Disney and they come away with a princess Aurora doll and all the other stuff. When they come in and their name is announce, like "Princess Meghan" and they have their crown placed on their head they are showered with rose petals before they are escorted to their table where their name is. They are treated like a princess in every sense of the word for those two and a half hours and to me that was priceless. Those smiles and songs and laughter were priceless and my daughter is 11, so I'll never get to do that with her again because it is only for girls ages 3-11. But, I think once you do it, it is not an experience to repeat unless it is with a different child. It is truly a once in a lifetime expereince and well worth the money and I would do it again in a heartbeat if I could. I loved every second.

Re: My Disney Girl Tea Party

Lawwin - Thanks for the link - very helpful! And thanks for your trip report - had you not posted about the tea party, I may have never found out about it in time! Love this site!!

Dana - I agree - I know I won't regret it and the girls and I will love it! And your right about the "found" money - I'm just afraind I'll "find" too many extra things to spend it on!

I'm going to give the reservation line a call tomorrow to see if I have to pay in full upfront - if so, I'll have to wait till sometime during the week when I receive my debit card replacement in the mail. I think I'm going to do it - as long as they have an opening. I haven't mentioned it to my friend's girlfriend yet (They are definately coming with us, BTW) and if she doesn't want to go - that's fine. I think her DD is just a bit too young to sit through it anyway. I'm so excited about this. Getting dressed up with my girls, having tea, Disney Magic....and CAKE! What else can a woman want out of a day with her girls!

Thanks for the helful advice and information!

Jen

Re: My Disney Girl Tea Party

I'm glad you decided to go and I know that you won't be disappointed. It was wonderful. There was so much to do and see and enjoy. Your little princesses will feel so special, I know mine did. We still have the rose that Aurora gave her that day. She wanted to keep it - after all it came from Princess Aurora.

Re: My Disney Girl Tea Party

Jen,

My daughter and I did it. it was loads of fun and I would do it again. We went during the pilot and they've improved things since then and we STILL had fun. It's paid in full up front like all other shows at this point, and as for justification of money spent, it's your money, your call. I found a lot of folks were very negative about MY spending MY money, so I just don't mention it. It was truly a wonderful experience and all the folks that work so hard to put it on for us, definitely deserved all the applause they got. It was very much worth it. I have a blog where you can read about our experience if you want, the link is in my profile.

Thanks for the link - I enjoyed reading about your experience at the tea party. I have decided to do it - with Stu's blessing even - and I think it's what I'm most excited about! I spoke with a CM this morning about making reservations, but I have to call back hopefully on Tuesday when I should receive my new debit card (lost mine somewhere last week) The CM told me I should not have a problem as long as I call sometiime durning the week for a mid January reservation.

Good, I'm glad. You'll have fun afterwards outfitting the doll, too. :D They are the same size as the American Girl doll and my DD *loves* playing with hers!

Re: My Disney Girl Tea Party

DONT forget your camera. Pete and I were in such a hurry to get to our 8:05 CRT seating last month that we FORGOT THE CAMERA!!! We had a window seat and every princess came up to us within 15 minutes and we were stuck w/out our video camera.
