Dress at WDW Restaurants

I just booked O'Hannas, Chef Mickey's and the Hoop de doo for dinner for next week and was wondering what kind of dress is required...I'm thinking it's dress casual and not sneakers and shorts?

Also, I just booked this morning for next week and had no problem getting reservations for all 3 -- even the Laua at the Polynesian was available for 2 of the showings.....I thought these were all booked up way in advance?

And another question, how much in advance should be at these restaurants and the Hoopdeedoo show?

TIA, Dina

Re: Dress at WDW Restaurants

You are fine in sneakers and shorts for all the ones you mentioned. Most people eat dinner either before or after spending time in the parks, so they expect casual dress. You will love all the ones you chose. The Hoop de doo is a riot!

Re: Dress at WDW Restaurants

I have seen all kinds of dress at WDW restaurants. We usually wear shorts and sneakers to dinner, even Ohana and other upscale restaurants. I asked once about a dress code, and was told that WDW wants everyone to be comfortable, and understands that people are on vacation. I think the only place with a dress code is Victoria and Alberts.

Re: Dress at WDW Restaurants

Hi Dina,
Our family has done all the above. As far as dress goes, it's really all about preference. I've seen people come in shorts, and then I've seen people come all dressed up.
Our family has always dressed according to the weather. When it's hot and humid, shorts, and tennis shoes would be just fine . Whatever you choose, I know you will have a great time!!!
And about the time, I would give yourself enough time, especially going to the Hoop-Dee-Doo. I have read to give yourself between 60-to 90 minutes time for transportation. My way of thinking is better to be ahead of schedule, than late. Just have a great time!!! JOANN

Re: Dress at WDW Restaurants

Just about anything that you would wear to the parks is acceptable at any of these dinner shows. O'hanas and Chef Mickey's are definetly very relaxed, and the Luau is like one giant backyard cookout.

Nope.

The Flying Fish on the BW, Jiko and the California Grille all expect resort casual dress.

So, while sneakers and shorts are ok (but not short shorts), no ripped jeans, tank tops and the like.

I'm pretty sure this also applies to Citricos and Narcoosee's.

Even in the Calif. Grill shorts and tee shirts are comman place. But you may be sitting next to couple in jacket & tie and evening dress

Re: Dress at WDW Restaurants

Disney is extremely flexible with dress code. I have been to restaurants with a cotton track suit on and have not stood out in the least next to the shorts and flip-floppers. You wear what works for you. If you are coming from the parks, no need to be fancy. If you are coming from a break at your resort and want to dress a bit nicer, then go for it. The whole of WDW is go with the flow with dress code. I do not recommend tanks and daisy-duke shorts though...lolol pay me no mind..I'm over tired and being silly.
