Icon5 vouchers

Hi all. Ok I was so sold on buying these vouchers for our upcoming April trip. However, now I'm a bit larry about them. I was talking to a Disney rep last night and he told me Disney don't even sell these. He says they are trying to get away from using them. That sometimes they do come with package deals. (so they do kinda sell them, right?) He said tho that when the company buys them from the company they pay $22.00 each. I told him that some say you can get them for $11.50 each threw some web sites. He says he don't know how they are doing it. And that the vouchers could be fake!!!! So are they just trying to get people not to buy these vouchers or is there some truth in what he is saying? I am so totally confused now and don't know what to do. Has anyone had any problem with buying them off hotwire and them being fake? Someone please help me on this one. Thanks all.

Re: vouchers

We have used the vouchers on our last 2 trips (bought from Hotwire) and never had a problem. There are several different types of vouchers available. The Q&C vouchers are $11.50 and they are good at the counter service restaurants including the ones in the resorts. The breakfast vouchers are more expensive and can be used at the character breafasts. We always use our at CP for breakfast with Pooh and friends. I can't remember what I paid for them, but I think Dana knows since I think she bought some for her upcoming trip. Then, there are the lunch vouchers that can be used at the sit down restaurants for lunch and some let you also use them at dinner. Those are around $30 and include appetizer, entree, dessert, nonalcoholic drink, tax, and tip. Actually, all the vouchers include tax and tip. I would not worry about the vouchers from hotwire being fake. Hotwire is a large reputable company. I know that sometimes when I have called Disney with questions there have been occassions when I knew more than the CM that I was talking to, so this might be the case. He just may not know or had any experience with the vouchers. Hope this helps!

Check out the following for details on meal vouchers. It discusses the different kinds as well as the advantages and disadvantages of using them.

Re: vouchers

Perhaps the CM thoght you were talking about a different kind of voucher like pooh fan said. The breakfast vouchers are $18.99 for adults and $11.99 for kids I think (I bought them awhile ago). They also sell park tickets on hotwire. Many DC memebers have used them, so I don't think they are fake. These vouchers have the Disney logo on them and I even talked to a CM about them and never was the possiblility of these not being accepted or fakes ever brought up in the conversation. I really woudln't worry about it. If you aren't sure about them, don't buy them. Why put yourself through that stress. Maybe buy a couple and try them this trip and if all goes well with them, use them more next time. Do what makes you feel right.

Re: vouchers

Vouchers can also be sold by a non-reputable source, and this is mainly on eBay. I would only buy meal vouchers off of Hotwire Savings Club. I have heard of them saving lots of money, but at others they really don't.
