Help too many choices

I am going to Disney World in Oct. We have reserved the deluxe magic package. It includes all your meals. Should I make PS for all our meals or leave some open to see where we will be at the time that we get hungry. We will be there for 7 nights. Also what are your favorate restaurants. We can eat just about anyplace except Victoria and Alberts. What do you sugest.

What are some of the places you're thinking about eating? If you go to AKL to eat any you'll need a ps. At the same time, I think they charge your credit card 10.00 or something like that. I can't remember. If it's a place that doesn't charge to make the ps then I wouldn't think it would hurt if you went ahead and made the ps and canceled if your plans changed. I don't even know if it would be necessary to cancel. I'm sure Mickey will know. I wouldn't wait until the last minute to make a ps for anyplace you really want to eat.

My suggestion would be to make PS for all your character breakfasts and any lunches or dinners you are planning in the parks. They tend to be the first to fill up. Since you are going in October, it won't be too busy. We usually make all of our PSs in advance, and then alter them if we need to when we get to WDW. There are only a couple of places that charge for a PS, Cinderella's Castle, and many of the dinner shows. They charge your credit card and they give you a credit on your bill when you show up. On your plan, they will just credit the amount back to your card. There is no charge for making a PS and no charge for not showing up as well. So, if you are somewhere, and decide you can't make it to EPCOT for dinner where your PS is, just find someplace close. You can make PS at any Guest Services at the parks for any restaurant, or at the restaurant themselves. Make sure you get a PS for each meal, if you are planning on eating at a sitdown place each time. Many of the park restaurants, as well as the good ones in the resorts often have long waits. It is well worth your time to get the PS, even if it is the day of the meal.

My suggestions for restaurants would be Kona Cafe and Chef Mickey's for breakfast, 50's Prime Time Cafe, Spoodles, Flying Fish, Le Cellier, Jiko, Boma, California Grill and Artist's Point for lunch and dinner. Liberty Tree is also a good choice if you are in the MK for the day. Make sure you also try the new Princess breakfast in EPCOT while you are there. Oh, and if you can get into Bistro de Paris on your plan, that is a wonderful place!

Thanks so Much

So far I have PS for Donald's Prehistoric Breakfast, Cape May Cafe, Hoop Dee Doo Reveiw. I was wondering about Wolf Gang Pucks but I haven't heard to much about it other that the were the ones that catered the grammies or was it the Emmies awards. I think I will take your suggestion and try the new princess breakfast. How long are the Character meals. I don't want to schedule to many if they take a long time. There is so much I want to do there I am afraid I won't have time to do even half of it.
Artist point and The flying Fish Cafe are others That I want to make PS for.
Has anyone eaten in Citricos or Naroossee's? What did you think? Can I eat at these on my plan or not?
Ohh and Bistro de Paris is a must. I love french food. Don't know if my husband does but I hope so.
Thanks so much for all your help. This site is a must for planing a disney vacation.

OK, I just typed this whole response, and my stupid browser crashed. The only Microsoft product I use, and it is horrible. OK, done venting.

Character breakfasts take as long as you want them to. They are usually buffets, and the characters come to your table. We have found that it takes us about 75 minutes, but our youngest is the worlds slowest eater, so she slows us up considerebly. I would plan on 45 minutes at least. Not bad for breakfast.

Wolfgang Puck's is a great restaurant, but make sure you ask for the dining room, they have four restaurants there. It is in Downtown Disney, but if you are going to be there one evening, it is a nice choice, as is Fulton's Crab House.

On the Deluxe Plan, you can eat anywhere but the Chef's Domain at Citricos, Victoria & Alberts, any restaurant in the Swan, Dolphin or the Downtown Disney hotels, McDonalds (? wierd!) or any food stand in the parks. I would go for Citricos, they serve southern French, and it is great. It is a nice introduction to the Grand Floridian. I would suggest the California Grill over most things on the monorail, great food and even better views.

If you are having problems finding places to eat, or trying to decide, check out the menus, that usually helps me.

WDW Menus

Oh, and you should just stop worrying now, we spend 12 days on a trip and can't see half of it. Make a list of the must do things and do those first, then move on.

Sleepless... I will be in Disney for 6 nights (on the deluxe plan) and want to have a loose schedule. What I mean is that I don't want for our trip to be so structured that we feel suffocated.
So, I have chosen to only schedule (from home) PS for our dinners and character breakfasts. That way, we can choose what we want to do on that given day.
By the way, Artist Point and the WL is a fantastic way to spend an evening. The food is so good! DH raves about the cedar plank salmon, and I love the Berry Cobbler. It is so big, it is a meal in itself! The resort has a calm and relaxing ambiance (there are hidden fireplaces on two of the floors in the atrium lobby).

I think you may have the right idea Trish. I am not even sure what I will be doing on our first night much less the next 6. I have written everyone suggestions down to take with me. That way in the morning when we decide what are plans for the day will be, I can make PS before we leave the resort. I do know that I want to try some of the more fancier restaurants on this trip. Our next trip we will be taking our grandson and I know he will not want to eat sushi. Hot dogs and chicken fingers and he is happy. This will probably the only time we will do the deluxe plan.
Thanks for the advice and the WL sounds like a great place to stay as well as eat. Maybe on our next trip.

:dazed where is the spell check button. I sure need it.

You shouldn't have any problems getting PS in October, especially if you choose to eat at off peak times.
Hope you have a great time! We cannot wait to hear all about it!

Sleepless, make sure you make at least a couple of PSs for diner, several of the restaurants that you want to go to are difficult to get in a couple weeks a head, not to mention the day of. That way, when you wake up in the morning, you know you have a set PS, and you can work around that or if it isn't going to fit with your schedule, you can cancel it when you call try to make one where you want to eat. I always find I would rather have a backup plan, just in case I can't get what I want. My guess is that if you call day of, you won't get a PS for California Grill, Flying Fish, Jiko, Artist's Point, Boma or any other nice restaurant, unless you want to eat at 4:30 or 10:00. This is even more important for any of restaurants in the Parks. Le Cellier and Bistro de Paris are often an hour wait even with a PS, not to mention what it is like without one. A couple of minutes of planning and phone calls now can save you hours when you get there.
