Getting to/from DTD
All the rave reviews of Earl of Sandwich make me want to go there. How will I get to/from DTD from Cont.? I assume there will be a bus, but have heard that the DTD loop takes forever. Is it close enough to another park that I could stop there on the way back from somewhere?
Any idea how magical DTD will be regarding xmas decor? How much time should I plan on being there (we're not big shoppers)? |

Re: Getting to/from DTD
You can't get to DTD from any of the parks.
I know that the Contemp is the first stop FROM DTD, but I don't know how the loop works when getting there. If it's a loop as you suggest, then the Contemp. trip would be the shortest and it's about 25-30 minutes.

From the Contemporary you catch the bus to DTD, you will go by Fort Wilderness and come out by the hotels. The first stop you need to get off. The trip takes about 15 mins.

Re: Getting to/from DTD
I've gotten pretty tired of fighting to get to DTD from anywhere without my car. You can't get from any park to DTD, although you can cheat a little at Epcot by exiting the south gate and walking to the Boardwalk or Beach and grabbing the bus from there, as well as walking to the Contemporary from the MK and doing the same. We stayed at the Contemporary last month and also found that the bus can go to the Poly and the GF before going to DTD. From our stay at WL last year, I'm pretty confident saying that the WL/FW bus only serves those two resorts before going to the destination. However, there is a big loop around the Epcot resort area that can include the Swan/Dolphin/Yacht/Beach/Boardwalk. A final thing to keep in mind is that Disney dispaches buses dynamically, meaning routes can change and the bus that came from the Contemporary might not go back there, but instead to Disney MGM. Also, Contemporary is usually the first stop when returning, then to Poly and finally GF, then on to a destination. Once you're on the bus, most trips are about 20 minutes, I guess.
