I booked a ps for 5:30 @ Ohanas for me, DH, DD 5, & DS 2. Is this an appopriate resturant for my kids? IMHO my kids are well behaved & sit for a dinner @ resturants @ home. Just watch this will be the time their not!

Re: Ohana with kids?

You bet! My kids LOVE O'hana. They have coconut/broom races and hula hoop contests every 30 minutes and The Big Kahuna walks around singing songs! It is so much fun! Also, FYI...they have a non-published kids menu (hamburgers, grilled cheese, etc) so if your kids won't do the all you can eat steak, shrimp, etc., (like mine) be sure to remember they can fix them up with kids meals!

Have fun!!

They have activities for kids - coconut races, hula hooping etc. It is a family friendly place.

First of all, welcome to DC--you found a great site!

'Ohana in a very relaxed restaurant--more casual than you are thinking. In case you don't know, there is a separate menu for kids if they don't like the standard menu. My 6 year old has a blast with the activities

Re: Ohana with kids?

Here's a little advice we discovered on accident-- Make your reservations at O'Hana so that you're there within an hour of Wishes at MK. If you do this, they dim the lights, and pipe in the music and you get to watch Wishes fireworks across the lagoon at MK. It's really great. (Oh, yeah-- request a window seat or at least sit semi-close to the windows where you'll have a view).

Re: Ohana with kids?

My kids, 5,9, and 14 weren't all that impressed by O'hanas. I thought the food was great but my 14 year old really just eats so little that it seemed like a waste of money and the 5 and 9 year old had a hot dog that I think I paid 9,99 for. They did have a coconut race with the kids and they got some gummy worms as a prize. But we did not see any singing Kahuna or hula dancing. Maybe it is because we were there at about 5 and that doesn't start until a little later. I would go again with just my husband but the kids would prefer Chef Mickey's.

Re: Ohana with kids?

I'm sure you and your kids will love it. My kids love it. They get to get up a couple of times during the meal to do the coconut races around the restaurant and also again to do the hula hoop. We've always had the Big Kahuna there to sing and we've always enjoyed our dinner. My kids are now 10years old, but have been going since they were 5. Relax & have a great time!

I absolutely think it's worth it CRT has a wonderful atmosphere, great food, and overall excellent service. If you have kids, or even if you don't the Princess character meal is a lot of fun, I love the feeling of dining in a castle. Gives you that sense of magic that Disney is so good at conjuring up.

Ohana is a GREAT place for kids! The staff does lots to keep them occupied with coconut races and hula hoop contests every 30 minutes or so!

Re: Ohana with kids?

There is ABSOLUTELY no better restaurant for kids than o'hana! They get to run around with CMs and play in organized games together in the restaurant! Our kids loved the race where the kids sweep coconuts around the room with a broom, and the food is fabulous! My kids would eat there every day! They like it better than the Polynesian Luau, too --

Do you have to request the kids menu in advance? Or is it readily available and all you have to do is ask for it? thanks.

My sister just asked for it and it was readily available. You won't have a problem at all....
