Re: 50's Prime Time Cafe
Depends on who you ask and whether you like to eat without being "interacted" with! I personally don't like it at all, but I know alot of people here at DC love it. I say try it at least once though. The food was good!

Re: 50's Prime Time Cafe
The food was excellent, but extremely filling. You will need to rest after all that great "comfort food". I thought it was cute, but it was a "been there done that" for me. I don't exactly know why, but I am uninterested in going back.

Re: 50's Prime Time Cafe
At MGM? Hollywood and Vine is nice. No characters anymore, but a good meal for a good price. I love the Crystal Palace in MK. My DD (10) still loves to go there and hang out with pooh and the gang. Breakfastsaurus in AK is another favorite of ours and O'hanna is a must do. Try booking that one (o'hanna's) for a dinner. It's at the Polynesian resort. They have coconut races and hula hoop contests for the kids...excellet food too.

I also have a PS for 50's Primetime, and I booked it because I have seen a lot of great reviews about it. I have heard that even if the service isn't very good, that the food is very good. It is "home cooking", and all the meals are very filling.

Re: 50's Prime Time Cafe
I love 50's PTC. The fried chicken is to die for. I would go there just for the chicken even if you didn't get the "mother" treatment. Actually, my kids like it better than I do. They love watching other adults in the room squirm when mom tries to get them to eat their green beans. My kids favorite Disney event happened there. I was there with my three oldest, and my wife was coming a couple of days later. We were eating, and a guy wouldn't eat his vegetables. First, his shake was taken away, then he went and found it. Mom got real mad. Then, he had to stand with his nose against the wall until he would agree to eat all of his vegetables. He never got his shake back though.
Our last two trips, our server hasn't been as good. One was just poor, no personality at all, the other time, it was just two adults, so she didn't go out of her way for us. Some of the servers are fantastic, others need some work. Still a great place to go.

Re: 50's Prime Time Cafe
We didn't like 50's at all. We are from South Carolina and the cooking here beats the pants off of their fried chicken and such. Our waiter was a dud too. I was expecting more. However, like mentioned alot of people love it. WE LOVE O'HANA!!!! LOVE IT!!!! We also really like Crystal Palace. We will probably be doing both of these again in October.

Re: 50's Prime Time Cafe
My family really likes it too. Occasionally the interaction is a bit intense, but most times it is just real comfortable and homey. We went this past Saturday noon and had a great time. It was like visiting with a cousin we hadn't seen in a while. The tables across from us were two seperate families and cousin Ellen just sat down between the two tables and chatted with them a bit about where they were from. She was very good and was flexible with our requests. We got a bit of a special deal on our electric ice cubes which of course was a plus for us. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend 50's PTC to anyone with the warning that you should use all your best manners...but then, I have always tried to teach my girls to use their best manners anyway.

Re: 50's Prime Time Cafe
i love the 50's prime time cafe. i had this delicious fried chicken meal and it was the best fried chicken i've ever had! the setting is outstanding and amazing. i really felt like i was in the 50's. our waitress was a lot of fun. she was the annoying sister and she was just great. i ate all of my vegetables so i was allowed to have dessert. the dessert is just as good as the meal. rob had pot roast and he enjoyed it very much. so my rating is an A+ for 50's prime time cafe.

I love 50s Prime Time Cafe. The fried chicken is the best I have ever eaten and the pot roast is to die for.On our last trip I left my hat on at the dinner table and "mom" made me stand up and tell the people sitting next to us I was a bad boy for leaving my hat on at dinner. My DW and DS got a big kick out of this.I must admit I enjoyed it also.I would highly recommend going there.

Re: 50's Prime Time Cafe
We love PT as well, but the experience really depends on how good your server is. Last year Aunt Brenda was our server and she was a hoot! I tend to be very picky and I pulled my turkey sandwich apart to get out some fatty pieces of meat. She came by and saw it and announced to the entire room that I had a science experiment on my plate. She then proceeded to do the "airplane" with a couple bites of food on my fork right into my mouth. My DH and my Dad thought it was pretty funny, but I was embarassed! She got them back by scolding them for wearing their hats at the table. All and all a fun time if you are into that sort of thing - very Disney!
