Hoop de Doo at Ft Wilderness

I was just reading about the hoop de doo review show. Was wondering if anyone had been lately...how good was it...how was the food...seating...etc?

My 3 yr old has been watching the Sing-along vhs tape which was taped at Ft Wilderness and really enjoys it. We were considering taking him to this show although it seems very pricey. Worth it?? Not even sure yet when we are going back to WDW but it will be within the next 4-5 months I am sure.

Cant wait to hear the reviews..

I have been to the HDMR twice and loved it both times. The show is cute and the food excellent. It's definately worth the price of admission to see. I would suggest booking as soon as possible. Your seats are set by the day you book. I booked almost a year out for mine and was right in front of the stage. The seating are done like that for some reason. They fill the floor area first and then the balconies. The way the place is set up though, there really isn't a bad seat and everyone gets "involved" with the show no matter where there seat is....definately worth a try.

We went in 99 when we were on our honeymoon and had a blast! The show was hysterical, and the food was good, too (even picky me liked it!) It's cool - they serve the food in metal buckets if I remember correctly. Chicken, potatoes, corn and all the other fixin's - oh and strawberry shortcake for dessert. Yummy! We had seats on the floor, to the left of the stage and we could see perfectly - in fact we had to hide out when they came out looking for honeymooners!

We went this past summer and had a blast. We had two 6 year olds and they loved it more than the adults, the laughed the entire show. We plan to return on our next trip with a different group of friends. We booked about 2 months before we went and had a table in in the front of the room one table from the stage.

Go, it's a blast!

Hmmmm sounds like my ds would really enjoy the show. Now I just have to figure out when we are going back. I am having surgery in February so we may have to wait til March or April.

Anyone know if there are hay rides at ft wilderness also???

I know they used to have the hay rides along with pony rides and a petting farm thingy. I'll have to go look around for sure. I haven't been there since 2000.

I think you are still seated by when you book. We booked late but had a table in the front. I thought we would be in the upper level due to our late booking.

We always do this show every time we go. The food is all you can eat fried chicken,ribs, corn, homemade bread, salad and strawberry shortcake for dessert. It is also all the beer or sangria and soft drinks that you want. I have had both front of the stage seats and the balcony seats and we could see great from all areas. Your family will enjoy it, it is a feel-good experience for sure!

Does anyone think that this would be entertaining for a soon to be 3 year old? Or is that too young?

I really don't think 3 is too young. I am sure your 3 year old will not get the humor but there is so much action to keep him/her happy. I think it's like buffets, under 3 is free so you are not out any money there.

Yes! We have taken our kids since they were babies and they clap along and laugh the whole time. There is lots of action and music and kids under 3 are free! You will love it. My DD's are 14, 9 and 5 and we have gone for the past 5 years.
