Re: Magic Who's Way? Dining...
i have a plan that will only cost your one dollar for a week trip to wdw per person in your family....
find 1496 other people to share your room with you and then you can each pay a dollar........granted..there wont be much space..or food..or time in the parks but hey..its wdw isnt it..

Re: Magic Who's Way? Dining...
The original restaurant list I got off the net was very good. However, so many have dropped out the plan will not save nearly as much and most of the really good sit-downs require two meal allowances.
Sounds like the DDE (now avail for annual passholders) is a better deal, with 20% off everything including adult beverages.

Re: Magic Who's Way? Dining...
It might be nice to have a two tier Dine Your Way package, exclusive of the Premium MYW vacations (AKA Gold), that gives you two sit downs a day and one counter service. Either that, or my entire vaction pricing matrix will have to be designed around APs and Disney Dining Club membership. As I've posted many times, with the old Gold packages, we were able to make it worth the price by eating at all the best places and eating all the best food, desert, and coffee. Well, that and boat rentals. But what I'm seeing now, doesn't make as much sense to me as the older package, but even then, I would have liked a gold dining pack without the rest of the recreation stuff.

Re: Magic Who's Way? Dining...
We just got back from WDW in January and did not use the plan. For my family of 5 I estimate we spent $400-450 on food, including the hoop de doo dinner show. We eat breakfast snacks, muffins, etc. that we bring from home . We eat counter service for lunch and don't really do many sit down meals. This year we did crystal palace and chef mickeys. So for us, the meal plan would be no bargain. For those of you that eat in a sit down restaurant every nite, I guess it would be less. We like to spend more time in the parks and less time eating but that is just us.

Re: Magic Who's Way? Dining...
I think the jury is out as to whether this new plan will saye you money or not. We will have to wait and hear thr reports of people who have used it to see if it will be a worth it .

Re: Magic Who's Way? Dining...
One option in EPCOT, since that was the original question here, would be walk over to the Boardwalk and do either Spoodles or ESPN Club. Of you could do Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club. I can understand why Le Cellier is a signature, and Coral Reef. But why did they exclude Marakkesh or Chef's de France or San Angel. They are all in the same price range as Rose and Crown and Spoodles. I really think they tried to limit the choices in the parks, though I can't quite come up with a reason why they would do that.
I am hoping we will see a revised list sometime soon as feedback gets back to those who make the decisions. I have already done my share of complaining. Hope it comes to some good.

Re: Magic Who's Way? Dining...
Erin the main "problem" with the restaurants at Epcot is that they are mostly participant locations. These are outside vendors that have a partnership with WDW to be on property. (Another glaring participant example is the Pepper Market and Maya Grill at CSR)
I believe that when the MYW and Dine plan was first conceived more participants were going along with the deal but since then the majority has pulled out since they stand to make more money if they don't honor the dining plan. I know that this doesn't help you but hopefully it'll shed some light on why things are how they are. Here's hoping that WDW can renegotiate and bring more participants on board with the MYW and Dine plan! JT Quote:

Mickey - I like what you and Dana said about Spoodles, and I think that's what we are going to plan on doing for now - unless they make changes to the list.
Either that, or we will just pay out of pocket for San Angel or Marrakesh. |

Re: Magic Who's Way? Dining...
If you're going to the Boardwalk, you could also consider Big River Brewing Company.

Re: Magic Who's Way? Dining...
I agree on the Epcot options.
I looked up the menu for Rose & Crown and quite frankly, nothing appeals to me!!! I would rather eat at Le Cellier but dont want to use up my 2 options! Iam going to do that for a dinner show instead. I didnt want to leave the park but I was thinking about Cape May Cafe clam bake. My mom loves seafood, I dont but there is ALOT of other options for me and DD. The reason I wanted to stay in the park was to get a good seating and watch Illuminations afterwards but even that chicken dish at Rose & Crown sounds awful! My mom would love the fish and chips though. Hopefully they will add LeCellier in the future , I would love to try it out!!! ![]()

Re: Magic Who's Way? Dining...
Another comment about using MYW dining with a discount code....
I booked a room at PC using a discount code - when I tried to add the tickets and dining, I was told I would lose my room discount. It ended up being an extra $40 per day. I chose to keep the room discount and not use the MYW dining plan. I think this is a better option for us, since I would tend to try to EAT my moneys worth on the meal plan!!!! We'll probably end up having a light breakfast in the room and possibly eating lunch outside of the parks when we take an afternoon break.
