Le Cellier

OK, I am definanlty eating at Le Cellier when we go. My question is this. We will be spending more time at WDW than the rest of the fam. 6 days for us, 3 for the rest of them. Should we eat ther with just the 3 of us or is this good place for large parties? 12 to be exact.

Re: Le Cellier

It's not that big of a place, so I don't know if you will be able to do a group of 12 or not. I would save it for just your family. I love it there BTW. The food and service are excellent.

Re: Le Cellier

I agree with Dana - I would do it with a smaller party. I can't wait to eat there next week - yummy!!!

Re: Le Cellier

I think that they could handle a group of 12 - but it's a really busy restaurant and you may have a longer wait (even with a PS) if there are 12 of you. I'd also reserve it just for your family.

Re: Le Cellier

Have you ever tried to make it? I got the recipe from Allears but haven't tried yet. I think I should taste it first the way it's supposed to be!

I can't cook to save my life, so I haven't even tried. I'd hate to ruin it. Yes, try their's first then try and make it. It may help you with the cooking part of it if you know how it's suppose to taste.

Re: Le Cellier

Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking too. I think we will just plan a character meal for our big meal with all of us. All the birthdays are kids so I think that would be the best thing to do.

Re: Le Cellier

If you want a more themed, bright, and airy setting for your family meal, then Le Cellier isn't the place. Hey, the name even says it, "the cellar". If all of you are looking for a decent steak meal at a more moderate price than the rest of Disney World, then yes. Don't forget the maple creme brulee'. Just make a PS for a party of 12.

Re: Le Cellier

We had a group of nine there New Years Eve 2002 and had plenty of room. It's not huge & airy, but you will love it - great, friendly service and the best steaks in WDW, IMHO.

Re: Le Cellier

We ate there last year with a group of 8 and did have to wait quite a while even with our PS. Everyone is right that you'd be better of going with less if possible, it didn't seem to be a very big place.

Re: Le Cellier

When we ate at Le Cellier that NYE, it was pouring rain outside and there were a bunch of wet people & dripping ponchos and umbrellas scattered about, but we had a great time! Our waitress (oops -server) was fantastic and we finished eating and were walking out of the restaurant to watch fireworks at about 11:50 p.m. even their timing was great - lol.

Thank you all for your responses to this. I think I will be making the reservation for just the 3 of us and do a character meal for all of us.

Re: Le Cellier

We did a party of 9 there with about a 1/2 hour wait 2 trips ago and the food was great.

However, there was a noticeable drop off in food quality when we ate there a couple of weeks ago. Not nearly as impressed with the steaks especially for the $$$$. Service was still very good.

My dear Thumper and I agreed it was probably our last time eating there.

Could have been an isolated experience but we don't want to take a chance.
