Fantasmic dinner show

Hi all, I want to make reservations for this thing... but I don't know if Fantasmic is every day of the week, or just on weekends like at Disneyland...?

I was thinking of making it for the Hollywood and Vine restaurant (and pray they have something vegetarian besides pasta and marinara because I get so sick of it at Disney!) Anyhow... do they have different times or is there just one Fantasmic show at night?? If I knew which night MGM was open late, maybe I could do it for that night, but I'm really confused here.

I'm so lost , thanks!!

Re: Fantasmic dinner show

If you are going during a busy time, there will be two shows a night. If it is during a non-busy time, there will be one show. There is at least one show per night.

You can see March park hours here. Just click on the day you want to see to see what time Fantasmic! will be playing.

March 2005, Disney-MGM Studios park hours

One thing to understand is that with the dinner package, you must eat dinner at off hours, like between 3 and 5 PM.

Re: Fantasmic dinner show

It's throughout the week, not just on weekends. It depends on what time of year you are going as to how often it will show per night.

This will help alot:

Re: Fantasmic dinner show

Also, you may want to check out www.wdwig.com as they have many of the WDW menus online. That way you can broaden your food groups.

Re: Fantasmic dinner show

We always get this package with the Hollywood and Vine buffet. It is good food with choices to please everyone (even my picky kids). And it is the least expensive option of the fantasmic package. They have great dessert selections and kid-friendly items, too.

We are doing this exact combo in April, I can't wait. We have never been to H&V.

Re: Fantasmic dinner show

I was at H&V on Sat for the FDP. It was great, and we loved the food there. DH even said it was the best at WDW. We got great seats at the show and it was over early eneugh for us to go back to MK for the rest of the night. I would book it the next time we go to see Fantasmic.

Re: Fantasmic dinner show

It definitely saves the hassle of having to wait up to 90 minutes in line to see fantasmic, especially if you have kids with you. And you have to eat dinner somewhere, right? We do it every time now.

Re: Fantasmic dinner show

Thanks everyone. I made reservations for a Thursday at 5pm. I wasn't home when I made them and I didn't look online to see what park was open late that day. So I don't know what my plans were for that day, lol. I'll work around it. Oh, Hollywood & Vine (I did go with that one.) Probably the park that's open late is the busiest anyways, (is it?)

It's a relief that it's set up, because that's the one thing I really wanted PS for, anything else I can probably play by ear and it won't be a huge deal if I can't get in.

What's funny (or sad) is that my daughter doesn't really care about characters meals and at Disneyland, she took two bites of her eggs and wanted to leave. But Pluto was playing peek-a-boo with me because he could tell I was WAY excited, hee hee. So I guess I won't bother spending the money for those this time!

Re: Fantasmic dinner show

I just called about the Fantasmic dinner, and I was told that reservations could not be made until 90 days out.

Re: Fantasmic dinner show

We did the H&V Fantasmic Dinner Package last year. We had a PS for 4:30, barely anyone there yet for dinner. After dinner we headed over to Drew Carey's Sound Attraction, came out and found a great spot for the parade. Watched the parade and went to Indianna Jones. After Indy, went on Star Tours, head towards Fantasmic and wound up meeting characters at the M&G in front of Mickey's Hat. We probably could have shopped a little before Fantasmic but figured better head on over. All of this was done leasurely and worked out "Fantastic".

Re: Fantasmic dinner show

We were planning on going to see Fantasmic on a sunday and there are 2 shows730 and 9... I made a PS for the 50s prime time cafe for sunday also at 530. We were just going to go and eat and take our chances with 730 show and if it was too long then go the 9pm one. Now that Im thinking about it would it better if I cancel our PS and try and get the FDP instead? I just read on a web site that 50s Prime time cafe is sometimes one of the dinning options with the FDP is this true?

Re: Fantasmic dinner show

I've done Fantasmic with both Hollywood & Vine and the Brown Derby. Really, you can't go wrong with either one of them, and the buffet at H & V has a huge selection, I think you'll be happy with that choice.

Re: Fantasmic dinner show

Oh and P.S. When you seat yourself for Fantasmic, don't be afraid to sit towards the back. You'll still have a great view, and won't have to battle your way out at the end of it. This is what Pete and I always do.
