Re: Dining plan....interesting quirk??

Well, I got an email last week that gave us a $ 400.00 savings on our stay(something from Disney that I needed to use a PIN for) so my travel agent just changed our booking. I'm really excited because now the meal plan for my son is basically free (mathamatically speaking), so it's not really an issue about the cost anymore. We'll just take the advice to order smaller portions.

Re: Dining plan....interesting quirk??

This is how I would do this for my family. I don't think it's cheating, either.

I would pay for 3 adults and 1 child (for my DD). Which is what my family is. But, my son (who is 11 and would be considered an adult) would NEVER EVER EVER eat all of an adult portion. In fact, I would praise and thank God if he finished the kids portion. I would PAY FOR HIS kids meal seperate, and use his adult credit towards something else. It would be the only way it would work. This is NOT cheating.

I have seriously thought about lying and say he's 8 (he looks 8) because, that is the portion of food he would eat. I don't even think that is wrong.
He can't conform to the 'standard'. I understand Disney can't take it at a case by case basis.
Meaning, most 11 year olds WOULD eat the adult portion, but he just can't. He's too picky, anyway. He wouldn't order off of the adult menu.

I wouldn't do it to 'cheat' DIsney. I am paying for the kids portion, and receiving the kids portion. I'm not paying for a kids portion and then buying an adult portion. Again, I don't see how that's wrong.

Anyway. THat's my two cents! It doesn't matter, anyway! I'm not going to use the dining plan anytime soon! LOL!

Not to pick a fight, but how is that different than listing my kids as under 3 and then sharing my meals with them (Which really riled some people up when I suggested it.)?

Re: Dining plan....interesting quirk??

This is one reason why I wouldn't discuss doing something like this here. The self-righteous police would get on my case and I don't need that. Cavey,if you want to list your kids as under 3,then go for it!!

Now, Mick, you KNOW I disagree with you about the mugs (or about who should be president in '08)

I see the difference as getting something you didn't pay for versus not paying for something you can't use.

We all know that Hillary will be president in 2008!!!

My objection is the self-righteous moralizing that sometimes goes on here,Cavey. It isn't up to anyone to judge what others want to do,and some people on here tend to forget that.

Re: Dining plan....interesting quirk??

Cavey, I didn't disagree with your suggestion, if you go read your thread.

I'm asking - what is wrong if I'm receiving WHAT I pay for?

It's not like I'm doing the loop hole like this: Pay for child's meal, but USE it as an adult meal.

No. Not at all. I'm paying for a child's meal because that's all my CHILD will eat (Even though he's older)

In your case - aren't you paying for 2 adults, and 2 children, but using them ALL for adult meals? Isn't that different than paying for what I receive?

If a person asks the opinion they open themselves up to answers. Some answers you may agree with and some answers you may NOT agree with.

Re: Dining plan....interesting quirk??

Sorry to be a pest, but I am still a bit confused with regards to the answer pertaining to : "Does Prince Charming always show up at 1900 Park Fare?" I just found out that there are new prices in effect which means that we'll be charged for 2 meals if we go to CRT. We'll be there in Feb/2006. I don't think it'll be worth it, am I wrong? We really only want to see some "boy characters", & Prince Charming would be great since it is an excuse for me to see Cinderella!
