Disney Dining Card

What is a Disney Dining Card and how do you get it? Is it worth it or not? Thanks

Re: Disney Dining Card

The Disney Dining Experience card gives you 20% off the bill at many of the restaurants in WDW. This year it is open to all AP'ers for 50 dollars. When I bought it in 2003,I saved the fee in the first month and a half.

Re: Disney Dining Card

We just joined and haven't used it yet. Even though we do not do many sitdown meals, I still calculate that we will save money for the year.

Re: Disney Dining Card

I think it's a great deal even though we are only going to be able to use it this summer, we have calculated that we will still save a ton of money between five of us.

Re: Disney Dining Card

We will have it for a year starting with our May trip. It's already saved me $25 on the 9:30 showing of Hoop Dee Doo...so that's 1/2 the cost right there!!

Re: Disney Dining Card

DH and I were thinking about getting one. I know it's a 20 percent savings, but then you are leaving an 18-20 percent tip. I just don't know. We do not do that many sit down dinners, because that's when Disney becomes quite expensive. Of course, that's just my opinion. Hope it works out for everyone!!! JOANN

Re: Disney Dining Card

can you use it for character meals? We don't do too many sitdowns so I don't think it would be worth it for us.

Re: Disney Dining Card

It is my understanding that if the restaurant is on the list you can use the discount for the character meals. As far as leaving a tip, you're going to tip anyway, right? -- so best I can figure it still saves you 20%?? We're VERY excited about this for our coming trip -- we'll be using at Whispering Canyon, Ohanas, Hoop Dee Doo and LeCellier, at the minimum -- not to mention several trips to the PC food court! Can't wait!!!!!!
