Fantasmic Dinner Package

OK, I called today to get my priority seatings and I have Chef Mickey's taken care of. I tried to get the ice cream social at the Garden Grill but was told that it would not be opened till June. So I was thinking of doing the Fantasmic Dinner Package at Hollywood and Vine (?). My question is, is it worth it? What do you exactly do? How do I find out what time Fantasmic is? Our vacation is at the end of May and the park closes at 9 on the day I would like to do this package. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Fantasmic Dinner Package

Fantasmic Dinner Packages are only available for the first show of the night NOT the
second. The seating times change at each of the restaurants depending on
the show time. For example, for an 8pm Fantasmic show, the seating times at
the restaurants range between 3:30pm - 4:30pm. They do sell out fast!

Re: Fantasmic Dinner Package

I would say book it if you can. It is well worth it to have guaranteed seating and to not have to line up 2 hours in advance. This is especially important if you have little ones. When we did the dinner package our meal was at 4:30 which is definitely earlier than we are used to eating. However, we just ate an early, light lunch and then had a snack later that evening after the show. Mind you, if you do a buffet such as H&V you may not need a snack later.

Re: Fantasmic Dinner Package

If the park closes at 9, there will probably be only one showing of Fantasmic. I'd recommend getting the dinner package, because you really should see Fantasmic at least once, and this is by far the easiest way to do it (usually the lines -- particularly if there's only one showing -- are horrible).

Hollywood and Vine is a great place to eat -- lots of food that will please everyone in your party. We choose this restaurant because it's the cheapest on the package, but also because we genuinely like it. :)

Enjoy.

Re: Fantasmic Dinner Package

I'd get it. In January, I skipped getting the package on the assumption there would be plenty of seating at Fantasmic. Boy was I wrong, we had to stand in the way back with 60-pound DS sitting on my shoulders to see. Ugh!

Re: Fantasmic Dinner Package

I think in May...it's well worth it--im not sure how the hollywood and vine is bc i've never eaten there--but we didnt do one in december...and it was the BIGGEST mistake....we spent 45 minutes in a line (and not a single file line...a huge mass of people line) people were stepping all over each other--ughh it was terrible--this time we're going in march (in 6 days) and we're doing it--even though we probaly won't need it......because i will never ever go to fantasmic again without getting a dinner package..
and fantasmic shouldnt be missed by the way...it's a great show!!!!!!!

Re: Fantasmic Dinner Package

I agree with everyone that the package is worth it! And, as for what time Fantasmic! is showing (or Wishes, Illuminations, parades, etc.), go to disneyworld.com and click on calendars, select a park and go to the month you're visiting. If you click on the specific date it will bring up another screen that shows the times for parades, fireworks, etc at that park on that day!! Hope that helps!

I am doing it in July. I was told to do the dinner package because it saves you from having to fight for seats.

Re: Fantasmic Dinner Package

Definitely book H & V. All you can eat, you won't be hungry until much later, and even in September when there is no one there, all of them are at Fantasmic. I can't encourage you enough to do this PS.

Re: Fantasmic Dinner Package

We did Fantasmic pkg. a couple years ago and liked it. Ate at H&V and the priority seating/entrance was worth it. Think we'll be doing the Fantasmic Pkg. this May and eat at Brown Derby - we've never eaten there and we want to try it.

Re: Fantasmic Dinner Package

If you are going the end of May, I would book the Fantasmic Dinner Package. H&V is very good. We had a PS for 4:30 at H&V. When we finished, we had tons of time to hit other attractions, along with seeing the parade, before heading to the show.

You can find out what time the show starts by going to WDW's website and click on calendar. At the calendar, choose the park you want to find out the hours for and choose the month you are going. The calendar for that month and park will appear. To find out the times of the show, click on that specific day and it will list the showtimes for parades and fireworks.

Re: Fantasmic Dinner Package

The dinning package is worth it. We have eaten and H&V and at Mama Melrose. If you like Italian food Mama Melrose is very good. I liked it better than H&V.
Have a great trip!
