Donald's Breakfastasaurus?

We are planning at least two charactor breakfasts for our July trip this year and were wondering what opinions would be presented on Donald's Breakfastasaurus. So, what did you like, dislike and when do you think is the best day to go?

Re: Donald's Breakfastasaurus?

The meal itself was very good, we had a late PS, 10:20, and the place was empty(in Dec). But, the characters rushed through just the same. It is the only meal I know of where Donald makes an appearance, so if he is a must, then you should do it. We just were really surprised by how rushed the characters were. Chef Mickey's gets our vote for best character breakfast.

Re: Donald's Breakfastasaurus?

If you only have two choices, then I wouldn't make Breakfastsaurus the one of the two. I like it there well enough, but I can think of a few more where they do the character breakfast thing better. Chef mickey's, O'hanna's and Crystal Palace are excellent. Crystal Palce is by far our favorite. We return every year for at least one meal with Pooh and friends. The only year we didn't was the year that it was being rehabbed. Get a very early PS...8:05 if you can get it and you will eat and see every character before the rope drops.

Re: Donald's Breakfastasaurus?

Donald's Breakfastsaurus is great if you want to see Donald. If that is not the case then I would pick something else. Crystal Palace of Chef Mickey's are our favorites.

The only reason we went was because DD had to see Donald. For a long time she would not smile for a camera, if we said "Say Cheese" she would just sit there. If we said "Quack" she would smile. Had to do it just for her.

Re: Donald's Breakfastasaurus?

Donald's Break. was good but as mentioned, the characters are very rushed. The guide books said the waiters/waitress' are a lot of fun but ours did not goof around with us at all. We noticed others were goofing around. Guess you have to be the lucky one. We are going back again this year as DS loved this breakfast.

We are going to try 1900 Park Fare and Cape May Cafe character breakfasts this time around.

Re: Donald's Breakfastasaurus?

We did a bunch of character things the last two years and by far, the Breakfastasaurus (sp?) was the worst. We got stuck in the room way in back, it seemed very confined...it is a buffet, but to get drinks (coffee, oj, etc.) the servers were very slow...we think they forgot about us. The food was so-so, the characters were so-so..the whole layout of the place to get characters through and such seems a bit awkward. As stated above, Chef Mickey's and the crystal palace would be much better choices for characters (either princess b/f would be fabulous for a princess b/f).

Re: Donald's Breakfastasaurus?

We have been to Donald's, It was OK not the best! As above CP is great, we also had breakfast at cap may cafe it was great. Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale were great. We had Goofy sitting at our table drawing with the Kids. It was the beat character breakfast we have done so far(we have yet to do O'hannas or chef Mickey's)!

Re: Donald's Breakfastasaurus?

1900 Park Fare Lane at the GF is often overlooked, but it has the best breakfast buffet at WDW (IMHO) and it's not quite as crazy as the other breakfasts. We use to book it for the last seating of the morning (around 11 a.m.), go to the MK, do a couple of lands, take the monorail to the GF and have brunch. By 11 most people have cleared out. Mary Poppins and friends are the characters.

Re: Donald's Breakfastasaurus?

The best interaction we had was actually at the Ice Cream Social at the GG in Epcot (which is not coming back until July - I heard)...but as far as breakfast goes, Chef Mickey's was great when we went in October! The servers made sure we saw all the characters and DS loved dancing and twirling his napkin!!
My mom took DS to Donald's in 2003 and she wasn't impressed...same comments I've read in the above posts. We're trying out O'hanas on our May trip!!

Re: Donald's Breakfastasaurus?

Thanks for all the replys. I guess I should have mentioned that DS is a Dinosaur nut. He has been obsessed with dinosaurs since 1 1/2 yo and the obsession just keeps growing. This would be his meal but you all have given me great ideas for DD's meal. Thanks again.

I may be wrong, because I have never been (just my mom & DS)...but I've never heard anything about dinosaurs being incorporated into the breakfast?? I mean, I know the name is a play on words, but is there really anything to do with dinosaurs there? I didn't ask Mom too many questions...so I'm not 100% sure.

If there is indeed not much association with dinos then there is most definitely another character breakfast where your DS would get better character interaction time...just something to think about?

Re: Donald's Breakfastasaurus?

Let me just put it this way, I've never heard anyone rant and rave about Donald's. I would go with Cape May, Chef Mickey's, or 1900 Park Fare.

Re: Donald's Breakfastasaurus?

The theme of the room is a bit like a dino dig but not that you would notice that much. There wasn't any dinosaurs when we went to the breakfast last summer. I don't know of any meal that includes dinosaurs!

Re: Donald's Breakfastasaurus?

Sorry if I created any confussion. What I meant to say is that AS SOON AS WE ARE DONE WITH BREAKFAST DS can get his little self out the door and enjoy DINOLAND. It's not so much the breakfast that he is excited about it is the idea that he can eat then "do all the dinosaur stuff."

Re: Donald's Breakfastasaurus?

Two Thumbs WAY UP for Donald's Breakfastasaurus!!!
It is very hard to find Donald at WDW so seeing him there is a big plus! We enjoyed it. And it is a plus to be near Dinoland! The characters attire is great, we truly enjoyed it! Food is your basic breakfast food, we sure were full when we left!
