MYW Dining question

Okay -- I think I read somewhere that it's possible to pay for a one-day MYW base ticket, but get the MYW dining added on for all days of your WDW stay (i.e., we're staying at WDW for 8 days; could we buy a one-day MYW ticket for each one of us and add on 8 days worth of dining?). Is that possible?

I'm not sure it will save us any money, and the hassle of having to figure out how many meals you have left each time you want to eat sounds like a nightmare, but I'm just interested...

Re: MYW Dining question

The way I read it on my reservation is that they are two seperate packages. Mabey I am wrong..........all I know is that it will save me a ton of money since DH loves sit down meals.

Re: MYW Dining question

Not sure if you can do that. I do know that the number of meals is based upon the number of nights you stay, and the tickets are customizable. So.... sounds like you should be able to, but the best way to figure that out is to just call Disney, or try booking it online.

Re: MYW Dining question

Yes, that is entirely possible.

When I was going to go with this plan, I had 4 day tickets, and the meal plan for 7 nights.

The website will let you plan it that way.

Re: MYW Dining question

Thanks everyone! Hmm... now I have to do some number crunching... . Anyone know how many sit-down meals the fantasmic dinner package "costs?" Or can you not pay for it with the dining package?

Not part of the dining package.

Yep, not included in the plan. You'll have to pay for that one, but it may help with your scheduling and free up a table service meal to use later. It worked great for my schedule, the only meal I will have to pay for all week should be our Fantasmic package at Mama's.

Re: MYW Dining question

My question is do you get some kind of vouchers to use or is it imbedded in your room key somehow. If it is a voucher system, people will be able to sell their unused vouchers on ebay so i am guessing it is on your key card. How do you know how many meals you have left????

Re: MYW Dining question

Karlie, it's on your key card. You give your card to your server/CM before ordering so they know to deduct your order from the plan. I'm sure you can check the meal status on your card at guest services or at any restaurant -- at least, that would make sense... .

Yes, we went with the dining plan. We have 7 day tickets with 8-nights of dining. I made a pretty good PS schedule using all of my dining plan options and just paying for one dinner, that being the Fantasmic dinner package.

Re: MYW Dining question

That's so great, Buzz! I can't imagine how nice it would be to not worry about paying for anything but souvenirs at WDW!!! ;) You're going to have such a relaxing holiday! If I look around and see a supremely chilled out family while I'm there I'll know it's you guys!

We all have APs, so I'll have to see if it makes sense to buy one day's worth of MYW tickets just to get the dining package. I'm thinking it won't -- that the money we'd spend on the MYW tickets would be more than the savings we'd get with the dining package. Plus, we can get the disney dining experience card and save 20% on everything, too... . I see a long day of excel spreadsheets ahead of me. BUT, we've also got the October trip coming up where we need to decide whether to purchase new APs or go with MYW. Thank goodness I like figuring this stuff out! I really should look into becoming a travel agent! ;)
