New Dining Plan

Is there a list somewhere of how many dining options you have to use for various restaurants with the new meal plan? I am trying to see if it is a good deal, but I am not sure what is included. Are the resort restaurants and counter services included?

Thanks,
Tammy

I have a brochure you can download that has a list of all the restaurants, and more information. The basics of it is that each person has one sit down meal, one counter service meal and one snack for each night of your stay. You don't have to use them in any order, just when you feel like it, so one day you could do three sit down meals, and the next, just three snacks, or whatever.

Dining Plan PDF

Just a warning, the file is pretty big, so it might take a while to download.

The included restaurants are at WDWinfo.

Mickey, I just read through the file. Please tell me if my understanding of this is correct. If I go next year DS & DD will be ages 5 & 3. They are light eaters often sharing a meal with mom & dad.

I know everyone in our party must purchase the meal plan, but the meals get pooled. Correct?

So do the children's meals get pooled the same way as the adult meal? I mean, if I purchase for a 5 night stay a package that would include 10 adult sit-down meals and 10 sit-down kids meals, would I have a pool of 20 sit-down meals or 10 & 10?

If it all pools the same, EUREKA! That would be a huge savings to us, by sharing with the kids. (Yes, I know it wouldn't apply to buffets & character meals, but still...)

So am I reading this wrong?

Re: New Dining Plan

I know it was that way with the old wishes, but I thought they would have fixed that in the new plans. There is a statement in there that leads me to believe that you are correct:

"Note: Upon check-in, all meals from the package are combined into one central account for the maximum flexibility. Any Guest in the party may use the meals from this central acccount at any time during their package stay until all meals are depleted."

So, according to that, you could just leave the kids in the room for dinner with a couple of Pop Tarts, and head off to Jiko or California Grill for dinner.

I am not sure if you go to a restaurant with the kids and you just share with them if they will get upset or not. I guess you can be the one to find out.

Re: New Dining Plan

Well, even if we paid for children's meals off the menu, we'd be money ahead!

Re: New Dining Plan

I was kinda thinking along the same lines.....only mine was if my mother joins us for a couple of nights since these meals are so much food. That we could just share and pay for her drink. With 2 adults and 1 child, that is still 3 appetizers, 3 meals and 3 desserts that is plenty for 4 people.
