Disney Dining Experience Questions

okay, are food courts at resorts included in this? From what I saw at allears, they are. Has anyone tried it in a food court successfully? Also, we are going in August so should I get the card now or wait until closer to our trip-does it activate as soon as you receive it, or when you first use it, or is it only good until the end of 2005??

Re: Disney Dining Experience Questions

I just purchased my membership for our upcoming trip. The one year membership begins from the date the purchase is processed, but actually extends approximately 13 months. (I bought mine on 3/21/05 and it's good through 4/30/06). Our card will probably not arrive before our trip so they have emailed me a confirmation that I am supposed to carry with me and use in place of the card.

I also received, via email from DDE, a list of restaurants where the card is accepted. Te food courts at all four value resorts are included on the listing. If I can figure out how to attach a file I'll post the official restaurant listing that I received from Disney.

Thanks, Allyson. Do you know how long it takes to process your request. We arent going until August. Should I wait until about May to call for one?

Re: Disney Dining Experience Questions

I'd wait until at least early July -- it takes about 6 weeks to actually get the card, but the email comes within a day or two and it works just as well as the card. If you're planning another trip during the next year you'll want to wait as long as possible so that you get the most out of your 13 month window. However, if this is going to be your only trip, then I guess it doesn't matter really when you order. Does that make sense??

Could I ask a question? With the 20% off, do you tip on the amount before or after the discount? 20% sounds like a lot, but really it's just the tip you're saving (which at times can be a lot in itself)

That's a great question, jo-jo.

I'm wondering the same thing.

Do APer's get a discount PLUS this 20 percent discount!?

In the above attachment the fine print says "DDE discount cannot be used in combination with any other discount."

As for tipping I would think you base upon the amount before the 20% is discounted but not sure what is proper.

Re: Disney Dining Experience Questions

In my opinion you tip what ever you want. I hate it when people say that you have to tip a certain amount and don't give you a choice.
I tip because the servers have given good service and I leave what ever I want. So just tip accordingly, if you think they deserve a big tip give them one or if the service is bad don't leave a tip at all. Don't worry about what percentage to leave,.
