NEW Fantasmic Dinner Package, Mistake?

I booked the NEW Fantasmic Dinner package yesterday for Monday, 12/9 @ Mama Melrose's. I had to prepay at the time of booking, but I have 48 hours before to cancel. IS THIS A MISTAKE?

I had originally planned to not book the package & just hope it wouldn't be too crowded & wait in line. But after reading reviews, it sounds like it can still get packed for Fantasmic, even during low season, and I didn't want to waste 2 hours of my day in line.

I figured I'd book the package, and if it is crowded at least I'd have a seat without waiting in line. And if it isn't crowded, then I'll just have to eat dinner at Mama Melrose's & I can try for a better seat.

Has anyone done the NEW package? Was this a mistake? Should I cancel? Is Mama Melrose good? Are the seats good if I get the best seat of the section? Will it be CROWDED??

I'm so confused!! Any help is appreciated!

Thanks a bunch!
:) :D ,
Katherine

In the past, you could only book the Fantasmic package the day of the show, and you just paid for your meal like you were eating there, but each adult was forced to purchase an entree. You can still do that, this is just another option. I have been to Fantasmic! a couple of times in early December, and yes, it does fill up. I have found that if you show up about a half an hour before show time, you should be able to get a good seat.

The seats reserved for the Fantasmic! package are ok, since all seats are ok, but it is the far right section, and while it is acceptable, I would much rather be in the center. The other problem is that the reserved seat are given away 45 minutes before showtime, so you have to wait anyways.

I would suggest, since you are going in early December, and the 9th is a Monday, you shouldn't need the package. I would suggest to wait until you arrive in the park on Monday, and get an idea of how crowded it is going to be. If it looks crowded, book something then, if not, just show up 30 minutes before and you will find a seat.

Mamakay, we were there in March, right at spring break time. We didn't do either of the Fantasmic packages (there was only one at the time), but walked into Fantasmic about 40 minutes before show time & got great seats. From what I read about the NEW package, you don't get to pick whatever you want from the menu...instead you're limited to specific choices. I don't know about you, but I just don't know what I'm going to be in the mood for that far ahead of time!

Ok, I've done the Fantasmic Dinner Package twice with my parents at Hollywood Brown Derby. You are not limited to what you get to eat. Or at least we weren't, we got the whole selection of the menu. I think you did the right thing, the beginning of December can be surprisingly busy (I know, I used to work there). Here's the thing though with those meal tickets, when you line up to go in, you all sit on one side of the stadium for Fantasmic (that is all the meal package people sit together). So depending on where you want to sit, that's what depends on when you need to show up. If you want to be down front and get a closer view, you need to be there early, but personally, I prefer to sit somewhere in the middle and get a larger view....Hope this helps!!

Mamakay, I just looked at the website again. It's not that you're limited to certain menu items. What I was thinking was sometimes I just want an appetizer or soup & salad & you can't do that You have to pick one from column A, one from column B, etc. This site probably explains it better: http://wdwig.com/fantdin1.htm

Sorry for the confusion.
