I was wondering how fast various WDW restaurants fill up for Priority Seating on each day PS's are made for, and how many days it takes for them to fill up. I know that the number of days to make PS varies from 60-120 days, generally, prior to the day that guests will attend meals at restaurants, and that the Cinderella's Royal Table character breakfast often fills up in less that five minutes on the first day PS becomes avaliable 90 days prior to the given date, but I'm not sure about other restaurants. I'm not only referring to character meals, but all restaurants that have and/or require Priority Seating for their meals.
Any help or information is greatly appreciated! ![]() |

Re: How fast do restaurants fill up for Priority Seating?
Kent, it completely depends on the time of year you're going, your party size, the popularity of the restaurant, and which meal you're having. As you said, the Cinderella's Royal Table character breakfast sells out daily, but Restaurant Marrakesh in Morocco almost ALWAYS has available PSs. And it might be tough to get a dinner PS at Rose and Crown during busy times because so many folks want to watch Illuminations from the restaurant, but you should have less trouble getting a PS for lunch. And, finally, if you're going during peak times, or if you have a large party, it's probably a good idea to get your PSs set well before you leave; but if you'll be traveling in the off-season with only two or three people, chances are you can leave some of your times open and make PSs on a whim when you get to WDW.
To my knowledge, there's no exact science to it... . Maybe others will have more insight. Good luck!

Re: How fast do restaurants fill up for Priority Seating?
Bali summed it up pretty well.
The only thing I could ad is that I don't know that there is another that fills up as fast as the CRT character breakfast. Also, if you can't get the PS time you want when you call the first time, try again later. Many times I was able to move my time around at 30 days when it wasn't available at 90 days.

We make PS right at the 90 day mark. Bali is right!

As soon as you know where you would like to eat, make the PS . Then you don't have to worry. I have made PS from my hotel room successfully, though. It also depends on your party size and the time of year.

Re: How fast do restaurants fill up for Priority Seating?
I usually make mine 90 days out so that I can get the times I want. Have never tried for CRT breakfast. We went last March and I had trouble getting a PS for Chef Mickeys at dinner at the times I needed and I called 90 days out. This time, I got all of the PS I wanted and I did call 90 days out. I aslo find it depends on the day you are going and if that is normally a busy day for that park. If you are going to be at a park on an EMH day, I would definitely make a PS for that park. If you decide not to go, you can always cancel.

Re: How fast do restaurants fill up for Priority Seating?
Aside from the very popular PS's, I rarely have problems up until about 45 days out.
Most people (aside from the loonies that hang out here ) generally don't plan that much until they're about 30 days away. Although, Disney now warns people with messages on the My Vacation on the Disney website as well as a mailing to suggest calling in advance. So, as was suggested, as soon as you firm up your schedule, then make the PS's as soon as you can.

I agree with everybody. Make your PS's as soon as you know. But I also know I have not had a problem making PS's from our hotel once we were at WDW. I really think it depends on the restaurant and its popularity.

Re: How fast do restaurants fill up for Priority Seating?
As Passholders who live in Orlando, DW and I often go out to WDW simply to have dinner at one of the restaurants. This sometimes is a spur-of-the-moment kind of thing, and rarely have we had problems getting a PS even on the day we decide to go. Of course we're not talking about places like CRT, but we have had success doing this with popular restaurants like the California Grill, the Brown Derby, Citricos and others. We went out late to Epcot the other day for the Flower and Garden Festival and Flower Power concert, arrived at Guest Relations at 3 p.m., and had no problem making a PS for the Biergarten.
Part of our success in making last-minute PS has to do with the fact that we're there pretty much to have dinner and don't really care if we see any of the attractions. This gives us the flexibility to accept whatever seatings might still be available. Even when we we're in "plan" mode, though, rarely do we call for a PS more than a week ahead of time. Would I recommend making your PS this way? No, of course not. The sooner you can nail down where you want to eat, the better chance you'll have of not being disappointed. I'm just pointing out that often you can still get into popular restaurants if your plans change at the last minute.

Re: How fast do restaurants fill up for Priority Seating?
Kent I find that the restaurants in MGM that do Fantasmic packages also tend to fill fairly quickly so if that is something you're interested in doing, I would book that ASAP.

Re: How fast do restaurants fill up for Priority Seating?
Of course CRT breakfast is hard to get (try the new CRT character lunch, we easily got a seating only 88 days in advance). Also, the HDR is better reserved in advance, especially since I understand they no longer do a late show.
Otherwise, we have never made in PS's prior to arrival. Of course we're pretty flexible. Last trip, we got a same day dinner seating at Liberty Tree timed just to finish dinner and walk out and watch the parade!

Re: How fast do restaurants fill up for Priority Seating?
Sometimes trying the less popular restaurants result in a nice surprise. Restaurant Marrakesh in Morocco has become one of our favourites because we ended up there one night when we couldn't get in anywhere else. The food, service and entertainment are all wonderful. Another way to beat the crowds is to get a PS for the very latest lunch serving. At some restaurants it's 4 to 4:30. You can order a drink, relax, order your meal from the lunch menu (which is always cheaper) and enjoy an early dinner. We've often done that. Then at about 9 or 10, we'll go somewhere for dessert.
