Has anyone on DC ever eaten at Tony's Town Square...and liked it? I've heard a lot of 'poor' reviews---but DBF and I are still interested in finding out for ourseleves...
and what is so horrible about it??

Re: Tony's Town Square

I don't know if this counts but we ate there about 8 years ago and thought it was fine. Not great but not the worst meal ever. We had a great server, the atmosphere was nice, and the food was fine. We almost went back 2 summers ago but decided not to at the last minute. If you haven't been I think it's worth a try once to say you've done it. We went before all the reviews were so available to change our minds and we didn't have any expectations, good or bad, going in.

Re: Tony's Town Square

We discussed this a couple months ago. The majority of recent eaters echoed the bad reviews. I guess the sauce is pretty bad.

I didn't care for it. I've eaten there twice. My one friend had food spilled on her. It was a bad experience all around.

Re: Tony's Town Square

I guess DH and I are weird, because we really like it. We've been 3 times in the last 5 years and have had no problems with the food or the service. In fact, we always look forward to dining there, especially if we can get a table outside during the nighttime parade -- you get a great view and get to relax and eat while you watch it!

Re: Tony's Town Square

Most of the negative reviews seemed to be that the food was overpriced rather than the food was bad, especially the spaggetti and meatball! Since we are using the dining plan and cost is not an issue, we are going to try it! I will let you know! If cost is an issue, check out the lunch menu, I read quite a few good reviews for that!

Re: Tony's Town Square

My kids didn't like it at all, they said the sauce was "funky". Our dinners would have been okay but they were cold. They sat us outside on a windy day and we were freezing. I would have rather eaten at pecos bill's.

Re: Tony's Town Square

If the sauce is funky, do they have any options on the menu that wouldn't involve "THE SAUCE"? Maybe any dishes with white sauces or anything? I'd like to try eating there at some point, but if people say the sauce is bad, I'm sure I'll think it is...I'm really picky about tomato sauces.

Me too, Kim. I much prefer alfredo sauces.

Re: Tony's Town Square

I ate there when they were doing the Pooh Breakfast and it was amazinfg service. However I don't think my circumstance really applies.

We did look at Supper there last time and the food prices were quite steep, so we went to Cosmic Rays. More so because Tony's did not open for another hour, otherwise we would have tried it regardless of the price.

Re: Tony's Town Square

We have eaten at Tony's twice....once in 1998 and once last year. We thought the food was pretty good and I loved being able to watch the crowds from our window table. Both times we only had a 5-minute wait to be seated.

The only advice I would give you if you decide to try Tony's is to split a meal. The portions were huge!

Good luck!

Re: Tony's Town Square

Sorry, we are ones who did not like it. Limited menu selection, service not so hot and really didn't like my meal. I got some chicken dish with veggies and grits. The grits were like a yellowish color under the chicken. I kept thinking it was chicken fat, that's what it looked like. Chicken was on the bone, which I hate in restaurants. My DH and DS said that there meals were just ok, nothing spectacular.

Re: Tony's Town Square

DW and I are Italian food afficionados.

Tony's is good, but not great. Personally, I can't enjoy Italian food without a glass of win, but that's just me. But even if MK DID serve alcohol, I still think Tony's would get a solid B- from me.

The service is generally very good and the restaurant itself is clean. The menu is ok and the appetizers are actually the best things on the menu.

The entrees are... well... just dinner. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about.

Tony's is frankly, a little forgettable, which is better than bad.

For a nice dinner in MK, I would say that Tony's ranks third behind Crystal Palace and CRT.

Re: Tony's Town Square

I've looked at it a couple of times as a possibility, but just can't get past the price they want for simple pasta fare. No way is it worth the price.
