Just used the Dining Plan!!
Just returned from a week stay at OKW and are group of six was on the meal plan. We had three adults and three kids. Have to say it was the best thing. We all loved it. You get one counter, one sit down, and a snack a day. Not counting our snack we saved over $500.00 ( I keep all our reciepts) It was so easy. We ate everywhere including Hoop dee doo, Chef Mikey, Rose & Crown, Cheese Cake Factory, and so many more. You get so much food and your tip is included. Every place was very flexible. At the counter meals they would let us come back for our desserts. So at Blizzard Beach we ate lunch and then 2 hours later came back for the ice cream. This did not count as our snack. When we were there three more restaurants came on the meal plan. I think more will continue to sign up. At he end of our stay we had a couple extra counter and snack left so when I extented my stay Disney gave me 5 character meal coupons and 5 sit down dinner experience coupons to redeem. Very nice, since I spent the extented time at Nick hotel. The meal plan was great I highly recommend it. But I did have PS so we eat at GREAT places. I think if we could not have gotten in to those restaurants then I would have a different outcome. Hope this helps!!

This is very good to know, we are currently planning our October trip to WDW and were thinking about the dining plan. Now, especially since Le Cellier has been added, we are more than likely to book our trip with the dining! ![]()

Re: Just used the Dining Plan!!
The "character" and "dinner experience" coupons, were they for free meals or a discount thing? It's really amazing you got them, since as you said you stayed off site. Did you always eat as a group and did you ever feel "we have to run to the other park, because we have a PS, I made two months ago"?

We did not always eat as a group and the plan worked great. As a room your card just shows your total. I made double PS everywhere under three names (two where in the same room) and we had another group in a studio. So I had LOTS of PS. I mean on one day I had Four for just dinner. It hard to plan it out. And this was great because we alsway had a nice dinner. Also our studio room ran out of their sit down meal (because on day we went to a two pointer and they showed up early on arrive day and ate a sit down meal) So when our last meal came (there was eight of us) She just paid for the two kids in our group. The restuarant was great about it. Like I said our room of six saved over $500 not counting snacks, but you do dneed PS. Below is where we ate. Hoope Dee Doo - Very Fun, great Dessert Mama Melrose- Yummy food, beautifully displanyed Liberty Tree Tavern - Fun Character dinner Family style ( but Loud) Ohana - Big dinner. great if you like meat. Very good Chef Mickey - Great breakfest. Fun Characters Rose & Crown - Best food. Great seat for the Illumination Show. Amazing Olivas- Surprizing the best steak. So good With our Coupons Chef Mickey Planet Hollywood Japen Restaurant ( Iwant to go to Le Celliar it great too) Hope this help. Can't say enough good things about the meal plan!!! Kimberly ![]() |

I am so glad to hear how well the dinner plan worked for you. We are going in 25 days
. I have been alittle weary cause I have not seen alot of comments on the good of the meal deal, just the bad when they were still working out the kinks!!

Re: Just used the Dining Plan!!
Out of curiousity, did several sit down restaurants allow you to return for dessert, or just one or two?
I guess I'm asking should a person expect that as a normal allowance?
