Dining plan really paid off!

I just added up the total cost of all the meals we had and came up with a savings of $551.92!!!!! It was worth it! I probably would have spent the same amount as I paid for the plan if I didn't use it and would have been much more limited with what we ate. We ate like queens for 10 days, I had filet migon, lobster 3 times, shrimp 4 times and dessert every night! If I did not use the plan it would have been chicken and hot dogs! It was a lot of fun just ordering anything you wanted and not worrying about the price! We shared a few meals so we could have breakfast too and stretched the plan to last for 10 days. (we payed for 9 nights) I highly reccommend this plan!

Re: Dining plan really paid off!

OOOh! Do give details! Where did you eat? We are going in Sept and got the dining plan for free with our package. I am trying to do a lot of character meals for my daughter, who is 1. Did you use and of the dinner shows or "signature" restaurants that are two credits?

Re: Dining plan really paid off!

Wow thats great! What package did you get? I already want to go back and am trying to figure out how to afford it! We went to the california grill and narcoossees which are both "signature" restruants. We paid seperatly for my DD11's meal because the kids meals were only about 10.00! Therefore we saved 4 credits for another meal! California Grill had the best Filet migon with tamarid bar-b-que sauce! It was so good I requested the receipe and they e-mailed it to me. Narcoosee's was also good but I liked the food better at Cal Grill. I had surf and turf at Narcoosees, the filet was just ok, but the lobster tail was yummy! We watched Wishes from both restruants
Narcoossees being a bit better view than Cal Grill.

Other places we ate:

Liberty Tree Tavern

Whispering Caynon Cafe- Very fun! Excellent wings!

CRT breakfast-Try the yourgert choice it was great!

Prime Time Cafe-Fun and good food! Excellent angel food cake with berries. We were able to get the drinks with the light up ice cubes.

Le Cellier- surf and turf- excellent lobster tail

Rose and Crown- Just OK, I was a bit dissapointed in the view for Illuminations.

Mamma Melrose- Very nice meal, cafe mocha was yummy!

CRT lunch-Last day lunch, was very nice and cinderella and her fairy godmother were in the waiting room as we left.

I had a shrimp and lobster appetizer at Cal Grill, and lobster tails at both Le Celliur and Narcoosees. Narcoosses also has a whole lobster on the menu and if I go back I would probably get that instead of the surf and turf!

Wow that sounds fantastic. Where did you learn all you know about the dining plan? I don't know where to start.

Re: Dining plan really paid off!

well-here of course!

I looked at the brochure from the WDW website then checked out all the menus at allears to see what looked good. I really learned a lot from DC central and other disney web sites. I like to research and all the planning really was a lot of fun. I'll gladly answer any questions you may have!

Re: Dining plan really paid off!

That makes me really want to try the dining plan. It would be great to go out to eat every day and not have to worry about the price on the menu. Thanks for letting us know!

Re: Dining plan really paid off!

That sounds great. It's just a shame you can't get an AP discount on the room and the dining plan! I would love to try the dining plan but as we are going over christmas (16th dec to 6th jan) I hope the Ap rate will work out cheaper!
Glad you enjoyed the plan!

Re: Dining plan really paid off!

I am trying to decide if we are going to do the dining plan also. I figured it up yesterday and it would cost us about $70.00 a day for it. We were not planning on doing to many sit down meals.
