Anyone going between aug and oct should check and see if they can add the dining plan free. I just did it!

Re: Free Dining plan

That's great !!! Hope everyone can take advantage of that.
It's really making me consider another trip down before the offer ends.

Re: Free Dining plan

what exactly does the dining plan include? We have APS, but they expire Sep. 7th. We were planning on going day after labor day (our tradition), which is Sep. 6th.-Sep. 13. We are trying to decide if we should renew the APs and get the discount at the hotel...or do the package with the dining plan....I don't know what is the most affordable...I'm so confused...

Where were you going to stay? That will make all the difference. Also, who is going?

Re: Free Dining plan

I think the free dining plan is the best offer. The current AP discount for that time period for a value is only $18 off per night. You can easily make up for that difference with the dining plan. I think I might try to convince DH to go with me since it's right around my birthday and that would make the best present ever!

Re: Free Dining plan

One other thing--if I have an AP, but get the one day ticket, could I combine that ticket with another one day ticket towards the price of one 7 day ticket? Instead of taking my DH, who just is not a Disney fan, I might take my mom or someone else.

Re: Free Dining plan

I know for values the AP rate isn't that good...but we were planning on a deluxe resort-most likely the beach club..it's just 2 adults, my BF and myself. I'm still wondering what the dining plan includes though....all meals? 1 meal? any restaurant?? anyone know?

Re: Free Dining plan

I did the dining plan a few weeks ago and it was great. We "saved" $550.00 compared to retail value of the meals we ate. I put saved in quotes because without the plan we would not have eaten so much!

The plan included a counter service meal consisting of entree, beverage and dessert, a snack which was a choice of soda, water, popcorn, chips, fruit, or ice cream and a table service meal that included an appitizer, entree, non-alcholic drink and dessert. Most restruants are included in the plan. It was great! We got to order anything off the menu and never had to worry about the prices! Tax and tip is included too.

We paid $35/per day when we went, so free is a really great deal!

Re: Free Dining plan

I wish they would extend this offer to AP holders too. Even if they extend the offer to later in October, I can't use it. I didn't book a package.

Re: Free Dining plan

Dana, you could always switch your reservation from an AP discount to a package and include the free dining. Doing the math today, I realized that the free dining would work out being less expensive than the AP discount (at least at a moderate). Good luck with the extension!

Re: Free Dining plan

The free dining plan didn't work for us. We have reservations from Oct 4 - 10, which we would be eligible, but it was not applicable to the GF lagoon view room. It also sold out quickly for that time period for a garden view or any view at the poly.

Good luck to anyone trying to get this package, if you can get it is seems to be a good deal.
