Re: dinning plan

Thanks for the tips. I do think we want to go to the Sci-Fi just so we can say we have been there done that. The Garden Grill I am still mixed on. Is it just pictures on a wall that is moving?
Any other suggestion that would be better for a TS while we are doing the Epcot thing? I wanted Le Celler just because everone raves over it. I also think it is more of a "grown-up" kind of place so my son wouldn't appreciate it like we would. Just trying to narrow down details.
We are also eating at CRT, Ohana, Chef Mickey's and Rainforest.
Is there another one out there that is a MUST DO?
I like what I hear about Boma but still not sure we want to give up one of the ones we have already picked for it.
We have done the Rainforest and Mexico before but that is about it for the sit down ones.

Re: dinning plan

Rainforest is rainforest. Being in CHicago we have 2 here in the area. Seen one seen 'em all. The only other place I have eaten at Epcot was in Mexico too.

OH MY GOSH! There is the Coral Reef at the Living Seas. Its cool for kids but the food is OK. You sit staring at the aqaurium spanning a whole wall. It's alot of seafod but the kid menu is standard. My wife and I found non-Seafood on the menu and continued laughing at the people there eating seafood as sea-life floated by in front of them. It was kinda sick and twisted. Get a table against the Aquarium. Its neat and IMO a better experience that Garden Grill (The restaurant turns not the walls)

Re: dinning plan

that is funny about people eating seafood and watching them swim in front of you. Did you see a little net come down and catch one after someone ordered fish?
I don't eat seafood so the land lovers menu would be great for me. It isn't that I don't like fish I just haven't eaten it since I was little and remember people getting the bones out of their mouths after each bite. I know all fish isn't like that but it left a bad taste about the whole seafood thing. Oh and don't get me started on shrimp...the veins and little eyeballs looking at you (when the are alive of course ). Yuck.

We might stick with garden grill but I am just trying to get the most experience and money for the whole family out of the dining plan. If there was somewhere that would be much better it wouldn't take much for me to change my plans.

We've been to the Sci-Fi a couple or three times but the last time was 2001. I don't know if they've upgraded their menu. I think their dinner menu is a bit finer. However, the lunch menu is really a few incredibly overpriced, average sandwiches (unless things have changed).

However, the atmosphere is a hoot. It's really a great place for kids (and also for adults cooling off in the afternoon.

One trick we use (learned from the Unofficial Guide) is to go there in the afternoon (2-4pm) and just get a dessert (ice cream or sundae) just to enjoy the fun.

Re: dinning plan

I haven't thought about that. We could just pop in for icecream and to cool off and then use our table service points for another one...50's or something. Hum....even more to think about.
