Re: restaurants to try out for next trip

Pecos Bills is the only one I've been to. I LOVE that place!!! It has a really great toppings bar, including that melted cheese... *sigh* delicious. I know they have burgers & chicken fingers and all that... I think last time I went they also had a wrap of some kind, a salad, some healthier things like that. If you decide to go for lunch you might want to make it either an earlier or a later lunch, because every time I've been there it's been pretty packed around lunchtime. It gets hard to find a table. But definitely try it, I like it better than any other counter service place in MK.

Re: restaurants to try out for next trip

Only able to comment on two of your choices

Peco Bill's - good food and fixin bar (another suggestion too is Columbia Harbor House)
Alfredo's - "very" expensive for not so good Italian, IM(Italian)HO.

Re: restaurants to try out for next trip

Boma – great place to try something different. Great variety of selections - and you can try as many different things as much or as little as you want because it’s buffet. I like both breakfast and dinner there.

Jiko – I’ve heard a lot of good things about this restaurant, but haven’t tried eating there myself yet. (The menu features African food. I was not sure what to order, so we chose to “sample” the African cuisine at Boma instead.)

Spoodles – This restaurant seems to have a mix review. Some like it; some don’t. I just had a dinner there a few weeks ago, and I love it. Overall the food and service were great.

Price average for this restaurant is on the expensive side though (well, comparable to Le Cellier). If I have to choose between the two, my best bet would definitely be Le Cellier. But both places are great to try out anyway.

Coral Reef – We went there for lunch. The aquarium view from the restaurant is fantastic. However, no one in my party was a big fan of seafood, so we didn't find the food there that impressive. In short, we had good experience from this restaurant solely because of the view. (If you decide to go to Coral Reef, try to request a table by the aquarium. It's the best view.)

Le Cellier – One of the best restaurants in Epcot in my opinion. Steaks there are great and burst with flavor. I particularly love Cheddar Cheese Soup, Filet Mignon with maple barbeque sauce, and dessert sampler.

Tusker House – Counter Service.
(I went over the menu for Tusker House and didn't find anything interesting. For Animal Kingdom, I prefer the counter service at Flametree instead. The BBQ Pork Sandwich is just delicious.)

Pecos Bill – Counter Service - regular burgers and fries.

I can’t comment much on Tusker House, Pecos Bill, L’Originale Alfredo, or Artist Point as we haven’t got a chance to try the food there yet.

Hope this helps (somewhat)...

Re: restaurants to try out for next trip

Boma - Animal Kingdom Lodge- This one is ok, but I do want to try it again. I didn't feel as though I really got african food, but I know they have to change it for american tastes. You can't really go wrong though. Oh the butternut squash soup is excelent! One of the only things my very picky dw would eat! Aside from the kids buffet!

Spoodles - Boardwalk- on my list of to do as well! lol

Artist Point - Wilderness Lodge- See spoodles!

Pecos Bill - Magic Kingdom (for lunch)- Burgers or chicken wraps, not bad but it's cs, so don't expect much. I heard that plaza pavillion has a better menu with the noodles station they have.

Le Cellier Steakhouse - Epcot- Very good! The steaks were nice and the atmosphere was cozy. More of a romantic place, Oh and the breads! I love those breadsticks!

Tusker House - Animal Kingdom (for lunch) For lunch if not Tusker than flametree. Either way I always end up with a chicken sandwhich. You've probably seen the menu for Tusker and grilled salmon is a first for cs. Animal kingdom has better cs than any other park, so the meals are a lot better.

I hope this has helped at least a little, but all in all you've got some good picks!

Re: restaurants to try out for next trip

We LOVE Tusker House for lunch. Best counter service we have had at WDW. The salmon is awesome. And you get lovely green beans too. I'm always looking for veggies for the kids. The roast chicken is very good too.

We always grab a fast pass to the safari, and then walk across the path to the Tusker House for lunch. After lunch, it is usually Safari Time. Works out great. Give it a try!

BTW, I'm envious of your planning since we are far away from a trip. But I love hearing about your preparations. THANK YOU for sharing!

Boma: some very different foods, nice atmosphere, attentive staff. My family wasn't thrilled with the food choices, but the soups were excellent. Our favorite part was going to check out the AKL.

Jiko: never tried it, probably won't due to family's reaction to Boma

Spoodles: We went in December. The food was just okay. Glad we tried it and wouldn't mind going back for a reason, but I doubt we'd go back just for the food.

Artist Point: on my list to try

Pecos Bill: Good place to go with the family or mixed group. Something for everyone at good, low, counterservice prices.

L'Originale Alfredo of Rome: never been, heard it was overpriced and there are so many better places to eat in Epcot

Coral Reef: stunning view of the aquarium. Very dark and cool inside: a nice respite on a hot park day. I'm the only one in my family who enjoyed my meal though. I had the lobster bisque and it was wonderful.

Le Cellier: Headed there for our first time this summer. Looking forward to it.

Tusker House: not memorable. I know we've been there, but I can't tell you anythng about it.

I'd recommend: 'Ohanas, Rose & Crown, Marrakesh, Crystal Palace, El Pirata, CRT (for dinner even), Sci-Fi, 50's Prime time, and Hollywood & Vine.

We're going to try the new Noodle Terrace in MK, Yacht Club Galley and Earl of Sandwich this time too

Re: restaurants to try out for next trip

We also like to eat, and here are some that we like to go back to. Boma, a must do. Cape May, If you like a New England style Clam Bake, a must do. Jiko was good, Boma was better. Ohana was a really good meal. The Luau was a must do dinner show. The food was good, the show made it better. Coral Reef is a really good meal. The food at the different countries is quite good. Just don't rely on fast food. Go to a sit down restaurant. It is well worth it. Best lunch going, A Smoked Turkey Leg!

Re: restaurants to try out for next trip

LeCellier is one I can always highly recommend without even a thought. We have had some of the best dinners there ever.

We really enjoyed Peco's Bills last time we wer at the MK.

I have been to a few of the others, but nothing that stands out to me.

Re: restaurants to try out for next trip

These are the only two I have been to from your list:

Pecos Bills - we always eat here at least twice on our trips...one of our favorite counter service (as someone else mentioned, they have a great fixins' bar with cheese to dip fries in!!! )

Alfredos - not impressed at all...we were a party of two and crammed into a table elbow to elbow with the people on either side of us. You couldn't help but feel like you were having dinner with people you didn't know since you were so close you had to talk to them! The food was not what I would consider good Italian food and I would not eat there again.
