turkey legs

ok, this is embarrassing, but after the 4 trips to WDW so far, i have to say we never had a turkey leg. i know these legs are big enough for the both of us and i heard a lot of good things about these turkey legs. are they worth getting? i would like to try one but i know i can't eat one whole leg by myself. how much are these legs? but my major concern is are these legs worth it?

Re: turkey legs

I can't remember how much they cost, but if you never had one, it's definately something you shoudl do once. I didn't care for them, but I think it's because I tried to eat the whole thing....turkey over dose or something.

I think they are $5 or $6 each. My hubby and I could share just one and be full (as a whole meal, I mean) But I would want to eat something else along with it because it is ALOT of turkey!

Yes, they are so yummy! Totally worth it! They have them in frontierland and in tomorrowland

Re: turkey legs

We had one once or twice in EPCOT. We never finish the whole thing though... They are good but a bit too big for us (2 people). Personally I don't like to have it by itself though. It's a bit too much turkey for me.

Re: turkey legs

My dad likes to get one every now and then... he really has to be in the mood for it though because he says it's very smoky-flavored. But still good. :)

Re: turkey legs

When we were in WDW in May, we rode the HM. It was not very busy.
Someone brought a turkey leg on the ride with them!

The stretching room smelled like turkey leg and then the ride did, too. He was apparently in the Buggy in front of us. It wasn't very spooky that time.

Re: turkey legs

My DH tried one last summer and really liked it. It was more than enough for a meal for him. I tried a bite or two and it was good, it really tasted like ham to me. I would never guess it was turkey.

Re: turkey legs

I have had two of them and love them. DW and I started the Atkins diet in mid May and then went to MGM for a day during Star Wars weekends. So we both got a turkey leg (very Atkins friendly) and loved them. My kids, who are not big meat eaters, also loved it and asked for several bites. I would recommend definitely trying one. I do beloeve they were abou $5.00.

Re: turkey legs

Though I have not had one at WDW I generally love turkey legs, so I will be trying one this trip.
If this thing is big enough to feed both of you for $5 then why not try it?

Re: turkey legs

A word of caution - if you want to try the turkey legs, do it at Disney and NOT Universal. A few years ago, my mom kept seeing the turkey legs all over WDW and wanted to try them but never did. We spent a day at Universal that trip (I know, I know) and she decided to try one there. She got SO sick from it, it was awful. We had to leave the park and get her back to the resort at Disney ASAP. She cringes every time she smells the turkey legs now! Of course, it could have been a one time thing, but I would still avoid the turkey legs at Universal!

Re: turkey legs

I love the turkey legs at WDW! I finally tried them during our trip in 2002. I made the mistake of buying two; for my husband and one for me. They are large, so try to have partner when you endulge. They are quite tasty and juicy, so have lots of napkins. I agree that WDW turkey legs are better than Universals. I also bought one at Universal during our trip in November 2004, and it was not nearly as good as WDW's.

Re: turkey legs

We also, unfortunately, tried the Turkey leg at Universal. It was inedible! Stick with the legs at Disney.
