Hoop de doo or Whispering Canyon?

Okay guys, I need some more help. Let me give tell you the crew that is coming with me...Me, DH, DD(4 at time of trip), mom & grandmom.
Should we have dinner at Hoop de doo or head over to Whispering Canyon? I have not eaten at Whispering Canyon, but did have that pleasure of seeing Hoop de doo. Everyone else coming with have not been to either. Just really wondering if DD will enjoy the show. Thanks again.

Re: Hoop de doo or Whispering Canyon?

We went to HDD last year with two just turned 6 year olds. They loved it! There were kids a little younger than our two and they were also having a great time. We went to WCC two years ago and decided it was fine/ok but not great. Maybe we just weren't hungry enough that night but it didn't thrill me. Breakfast was far better, we really enjoyed that and we are doing it again this year.

I say Hoop Dee Doo!!

Re: Hoop de doo or Whispering Canyon?

Our first time at WC, we had a party of 6 and they seated us waaay out of the way by the fireplace. So we really missed all the fun in the other room.

I'd say if you really want to be sure to have a good time, go to HDD.

Re: Hoop de doo or Whispering Canyon?

I can't really even compare the two as different as the experiences were...but they are both great.

To me, the food is much better at the Whispering Canyon -- but the SHOW at the HDD outweighs the food only being so-so. It depends on what you're looking for - just a great meal or evening entertainment. We did them both on our last trip and will likely do them both again in October. My DS was four (almost 5) in May when we went and he LOVED the HDD. He also really enjoyed the "pony races" at WC. I'm not much help...either one (or both) is a great choice!

Re: Hoop de doo or Whispering Canyon?

I have to also say HDD. They are like comparing apples to oranges and not the same thing. I love WC, but HDD is a bird of a different feather. The show is fantastic as you already know. I think your DM and DGM would get a kick out of it.

Re: Hoop de doo or Whispering Canyon?

I know that DGM will like HDD. It is right up her alley. I just didn't know if DD would be too young for this show. I have to admit that I saw it so long ago that I don't remember specifics of the show, just the general feeling that I enjoyed it.

My DD saw it when she was 6. She loved it. I saw many smaller kids there when we went and they all seemed to enjoy the show. She may not get all the little puns and jokes, but I think she will enjoy it.

We thought the same thing. WCC is fun, but the meal is just so/so. We liked breakfast better.

I vote for Hoop Dee Doo! Make sure you let us know how it all goes!

Re: Hoop de doo or Whispering Canyon?

HDD gets my vote. I have taken the DDs here every year and even when they were babies they sat in a high chair and clapped along, waved their napkins and banged their spoons. I thought about skipping it this next trip but they begged me not to! My DDs are 6,10, and 15. It is definitely fun for every age.

Re: Hoop de doo or Whispering Canyon?

I've never been to HHD, but loved WCC. My 2 1/2 yo was very impressed with it. When I ask her where she wants to go when we go back to disney she always says "Dumbo, IASW, and the waving napkin place!(WCC)"

Re: Hoop de doo or Whispering Canyon?

Tough choice... but my 4 year old and 9 year old LOVED HDD.. Book early as I have been told (although not confirmed) that the earlier you book, the better the seats. Taking this into consideration, for our last trip I booked very early and we had a table at the stage!
